For a Type 4, this is incredibly helpful. I think the “power” of a 4 is their placement near the 5, 3, and 1 in the Enneagram more so than their number itself. To any 4s out there, you’re an artist surrounded by the scientist, champion, and your integration is toward the perfectionist. It’s the best placement in my opinion even though being a 4 is really tough. Take heart. It’s about progress and not just staying in 4ness. If that makes sense.

Thank you so much for this. I'm a 9w1 who is kind of stuck in the 'complacent, zoned out, floating through life' phases right now because I'm both overwhelmed about the state of the world and confused on how to proceed in my personal life. Actually taking the time to listen to what my 1, 8, 6, and 3 have to say it honestly feels a lot less..daunting? Might be weird but it feels like I'm less alone in my decision making. I'm currently doing some work that I've put off doing for weeks thanks to the consult. Thank you again!

I know this comment is ancient - I think this technique is especially genius for 9s because we're great at seeing other perspectives, often want extra direction and to please the other members of the council!

For me, one of the best videos I’ve watched about well-rounded self-development. Thank you for adding the last bits following, “a seven always has more to share...”. So glad you went on. (No.9w1: 6, 3 & 8ish). ;)

9w1 and my 8 wing definitely pops up during decision making as well as 6 (voice of stress) that tells me all the things that could go wrong 😅 I've been listening to 1 wing and 6 stress for too long leading to niceties and people pleasing. But now I want to grow more in 8 and 3 and it's been daunting but also exhilarating lol

As a 1, people often start to roll their eyes when I bring up the logistical details of a plan. It's not my intention to tear down the plan but I can often be the person poking as many holes in the logic as possible to see if the idea can hold up. If all the logistical requirements are solid, it is more likely to work. It sounds like a miserable perspective and people hate when I go down that road but logistics are important. Lol

I absolutely love going to a 6 in health as a 3. It helps me examine all possible outcomes and strategic planning, rather than shoot from the hip on my next big venture.

Would love to hear this council of voices also for the Nine. Right now I can not hear the negative voice of each, the dismissive that each in their own way say I am not important.

I would also add it could be possible to include the numbers within someone’s tritype especially if they are not within the five numbers from the dominant, the wings, and the growth/stress numbers. For example, my tritype is 479, so although I would not draw from the 7 and 9 from my growth/stress or my wings, I definitely tap into 7 and 9 frequently :). I find the tritype is super important, because it taps into each center of the enneagram circumference. Thank you for this wonderful video!!!😁

Hello everyone, this is a great vid btw, But if you enjoy the ennegram and music. I was recently told about the band "Sleeping at last". They have an album called "atlas: ennegram" which has a song (9) for each type on the ennegram. They aren't exactly my style... But if you are interested, I saw them on Spotify and it's useful if you want to see a snapshot of a different type:)

Christian, I think what you are describing is called the TriType or True Type Wiring, not wings. From enneagram.net: "Although one of these three Types is dominant, or your primary Type, the other two Types play a large role in your life. What is surprising is that these two other Types are not always the Types along the lines of connection (the lines connected to your primary Type)...If you are an Enneagram Type 4 you might have a Tritype of 4-6-8. This would mean you predominantly use Type 4, however, if the 4 strategies don?t work you will next use the strategies of Type 6 and then Type 8. Your Enneagram Type 4 would still be in charge. However, when the 4 strategies fails to produce results and all permutations (wings and lines of connections) of Type 4 have been exhausted, you will then shift to use the dominant Type in each of the other two centers to manage problems and create solutions."
