Are you more influenced by the logical thoughts of the head? Are you more swayed by the emotions of the heart? Or do you primarily take action based on your gut instincts?
We obviously need all three to be the best version of ourselves, but we each have a tendency to rely on one or two more than the other. In this video, I'll explain the enneagram theory of the "Triadic Self" and how each enneagram type has a unique flow of processing information and making decisions. These triads create the foundation of our perspective, so be sure to spend some time learning the natural biases of your type so you can become more self-aware, and ultimately make better decisions about your work, relationships, and personal life in general!

It's unfortunate that this knowledge is not for all who needs it but only for those who wants it. This video is going to become my "header" reference. Not enough words for thanking you!

My type one mother’s anger is ruining my life. Ruining the family. Her wrath is incessant and easily triggered. Yet she believes it’s everyone’s fault for not conforming to her idea of perfection. It’s exhausting and I just want to sink into the snow and pass away. So much of my life has been trying to not trigger her. It’s really not a way of life.

thank you for the video! this is very easy to follow. I appreciate it a lot. As an 8, every time I learn that I have to take a dive into my heart... it just hits home (I don't know how else to put it). Meditating and trying to regain that innocence that I have lost when I had to grow up fast... might just be the greatest challenge.

This is GOLD. I'm interested in Enneagram for years and I couldn't find any of this information anywhere. I had huge problems with typing myself and thanks to your explanation I know I am 1w2 sp/so. It was hard because I'm INFP, 127 tritype, so I look very seven-ish. I say it as a One - keep going! Your channel should explode, because it's perfect :)

Your videos are incredibly good. Do you think you could do a direct comparison between 5 and 9? I think that I'm INTP, and when I watched your videos on 5 and 9, I can see myself on both of these types. I can't help but think that I may be one of those 9s commonly mistyping as 5. A direct comparison with examples would be great.

Thank you so much for the videos I have soms questions about 1 and i hope you answer them: what does perfection mean for 1? and is it moral or can be something else? And how do 1 choose his standards? Why 1 wants perfection And why 1 afraid of being evil? and i can't say that 1s afraid of being evil and corrupt, because they are afraid of being punished after their corruption, because this is the core fear of 8 and not 1 And i want to know about something else: Why did enneagram founders concluded that the core fears are only 9 and not 12 for example? and why did they arrange them like that? Sorry for these many questions, but they're so important in order to clarify the meaning of enneagram 1, because it's unclear at all,and the second questions in order to know the real enneagram working system

Hi there - that is indeed too many questions for a KZbin comment section. But I do suggest watching the video on Type 1s here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hn-3mmaBm7ONi6c And on your point about 8s, they're not afraid of being evil or corrupt. They embrace being the "bad boy/bad girl" which is the exact opposite of 1s that are afraid of being seen as bad. But again, that video on 1s will clarify a lot for now (not all, but a lot).
@kingali7602
@kingali7602 Жыл бұрын
@@YouveGotaType all clear, but let's say that i am religious person who wants to be the bad guy, but afraid of being punished by god or maybe people are stronger than me and they definitely can punish me if I am bad, does that make me 1 or 8?
@YouveGotaType

@@kingali7602 Funny to read this now as I just had this convo over the weekend about a church leader in town. All types encounter fear, so does that fear charge you up to act or does it make you transform your behaviors into a more acceptable form of rebellion? 1s are compliant types at heart, so even if they're shaking things up, they do restrain most of their impulses while 8s over indulge those impulses on a daily basis.

Hi YGAT, thank you for sharing this richly informative video breaking down the the triads for each type with us! I have one question/point which I am slightly confused about 😅 In the segment on enneagram 6’s, I believe their leading triad is the head triad but then at the very end touching on Hornevian types, it’s said that the 6 is compliant and therefore taps into the head type the least for social behaviors? I’m guessing this is somehow linked to the fact that 6 is an impinged type or maybe that the triad summary highlights a different area of life than the Hornevian system? And after rewatching both segments quite a few times, I couldn’t quite figure it out myself so I was wondering- Would you be able to share what differentiates triads and Hornevian types / what determines the head as the leader in the triad vs. what determines thinking as the least used function in Hornevian types? Hopefully that question made sense lol
@EternalGalaxies
@EternalGalaxies 10 ай бұрын
Edit: Oops, I may have just realized it now lol- it’s that 6’s primarily use their head when processing information or making a decision but in the case of social interactions, their thinking side is the most ignored because that’s almost a completely different environment from intake of information for personal research or making decisions which only affect the 6 themselves?

Thank you so much for the informative video!, but do you think that the wings of each type will have an effect on the triads? (ex the one is last on thinking while the nine is last on the gut how will that effect a 1w9?)
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType Жыл бұрын
Great question! Yes, the wings definitely have a strong impact on the types that are not impinged (3, 6, and 9 = impinged). I try to incorporate a bit of that influence in my wings videos, but could certainly speak to it more.

@@YouveGotaType thanks for your reply, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on how a mixture of two different types can change some general characteristics of the core type of that mixture(including triads,levels of health, strength and weakness,etc) and to hopefully prevent mistyping, Thank you for your efforts.

Does this mean that as a 7 with a 6 wing I share the 6's impinged setup as well? I've always felt that I'm influenced by the ways of the heart.
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 8 ай бұрын
The 6 wing usually symbolizes a bit more focus on people over things, less drive for career ladder climbing/influence, and a more intense inner struggle with anxiety. The impinged nature of 6s is unique to them alone and does not impact the 7 at their core functions (theoretically speaking). Many "emotional" 7s are actually 2s, OR they 7 is mistaking the excitement of the mind with an emotional drive. Hope that helps!

Interesting, I’d think tritypes/trifixes if you believe in them dictate which triad comes after core type…

Thanks for sharing all of this. I have done a 2 days workshop + test+ 3 sessions of coaching on it. I am gaining a lot of insights with the way you describe it all in you . To enhance this, perhaps some additional visual to make it simple. I know it is a topic that the passionate people will kee0 foll9wing, however using your style of analogies, personas, characters with additi9nal visual might help... a5 least for people like me.again tx a million for sharing this. I d love to be in touch as I am trying to become a trainer too on the topic. Let me know if you are keen.

@YouveGotaType nice from you to get in touch. I th8nk 9n thr visual, using the triades from the enneagram shape is already helping a lot. I have just watch your lord of the ring video which helped me to further understand even if I would have (rightfully or not) typed some slightly differently but your explanation made me really think twice on my analysis. Anyway, on the visual, for me it might helps to visualize the wings and subtypes with certain visual attributes. You describe the with words wh7ch is already great, but I have difficulty remembering the nuances with the potential 5 or 6 persona a type can have with wings and subtypes. A visual representation of each to help understand and remember might help. Tx so much for what you are doing, I have watch hours of content on it and read books about it but you style is very comprehensive and impactful. (FYI I am a 9w1... I think) any chance you wish to connect further let me know, as I am eager to fine tune my knowledge on enneagram in a practical manner. 😉 cheers.
