No Enoch was a throwback and a snob taking on grandiose ideas about his destiny in life. He wasn't suitable as a Prime Minister but wanted to be Viceroy of India - a post for the nobility, where he was descended from hawking and spitting Coal Miners. I knew this man in the 1970’s, I used to travel with him on the train from Wolverhampton to London on Sunday when he was returning to parliament on Monday. I always made sure I was in the same train compartment as Enoch to listen to him talk about daily British topics, don’t get me wrong he wasn’t preaching to anyone he was just answering question from fellow travellers. Like me there was people who wanted to listen to his views, when I think back he wasn’t a million miles from what the EU has done to the UK and is trying to do now.
