Fun fact, while the hou-long is out, after burn from the weapon will be 5 damage per tic instead of 4. Also, buildings count as burning players (which is why the dragons fury deals full 75 damage to them)

I remember when my friends and I did the Flying Flambe. It was a Sun-On-A-Stick-Scout, a Jetpack Pyro, and a Huo Long Heavy. 2 of each, the squads of 3 would just roam the map, Heavy and Scout providing health via Banana and Mad Milk, while the Pyro used the Backscratcher to make optimal use of the small healthpack the Banana provided. Was fun.

I love the huo-long heater, even as a f2p. It lets me shoot forward while still being able to repel spies. Also, I've noticed the effect it has against demoknights, which is how they run away from me, only to forget the huo-long heater can still shoot.

Basically The Huo was made specifically out dps stock up close, good on paper, bad in design. So point blank Poot v Poot looks like this, weakest to strongest Tomislav Stock Huo Brass beast can go on either end, depends if it was already spun or not. Natasha is somewhere, idk.

One little extra bit that can help with holding down an area and/or preparing an ambush: the ring of fire only activates when the gun is fully revved. Because the Huo-long Heater has one of the quietest initial revs (sometimes it's harder to notice than even the Tomislav's click) you can conserv ammo by repeatedly tapping mouse 2, making the heavy spin up and spin down repeatedly, using no ammo and losing basically no revving time in the process. In my opinion, an absolute MUST for this weapon.

I've been playing around with the Heater in MvM recently and it's actually become my favourite to use. It's like gaining the Brass Beast's raw damage output without sacrificing the mobility of stock. Playing around the Ring of Fire encourages you to get right in close to the robots where you'll do the most damage regardless of which weapon you use, and with maxed out Dispenser Range and/or and ammo capacity upgrades you have lots of leeway to play around with.

I thought of a way to make it better. Have the hue long heater have a rage bar and when it’s full (after 45 seconds or 500 dmg) it creates a sphere of fire around the heavy but you loose ammo faster if you shoot with the sphere of fire being active (maybe twice as fast) and while the sphere is active it will drain at the same rate of you shooting without the sphere. And when you reach 100 rounds left you will loose the effect and when it’s active you can’t pick up ammo from dispensers, the cart, and ammo crates. The fire would also be more transparent than all other fire effects so you can still see

Love the videos man. Don't forget one of the Hot Schlong Eater's biggest strategies. Medic heavy dropping! The Hou Long can actually out damage a stock heavy/medic if a few things go perfectly right. You A(Catch the pair while the heavy isn't revved.) B(The medic is on stock or Kritz) and C( You actually hit all your shots.) If everything goes right you're left with very little health, but let me tell you, downing an over-healed heavy medic? Best feeling ever.

Huo long heater is very underated, I mean it actively discourages enemies getting in close because fire damage + bonus damage, forcing your enemy to stay at mid range (best range for heavy) or long range.

I feel compelled to say there's one other way the Huo-Long Heater can be good. When pushing carts on Offense. Think about it. Sticking close to the cart refuels your ammo like a Dispenser does, and the circle of fire helps protect some of the other guys pushing the cart from any sneaky ne'er-do-wells who think they're clever, thus ensuring the cart gets to where it needs to be faster. Just beware of Snipers. They KNOW how to deal with Cart Heavies.

My suggestion is to change the damage against the burning players and replace it with lighting players in fire with the bullets like a dragon breathing fire, and change so the ring consumes less ammo pre second

Personal idea I had to make the huo long heater a bit more useful outside of these fringe scenarios. Give it incendiary ammo, bullets that don't deal much damage on their own, but do some short burn damage to make up for it. It would be very inefficient at taking down singular enemies compared to normal miniguns, but would excel at just spreading around tons of damage to an entire team. Essentially it would just be the spray and pray minigun, quickly flicking between each enemy as soon as they got lit on fire.
