Anyone find it weird that when we first saw the Yamaguchi her registry read NCC-26530 yet when we see her again at the Wolf 359 memorial her registry reads NCC-26510 that just doesn't make sense why the ship's registry number would be changed.

One quibble, Yorktown's canonical NCC is debatable, the preferred NCC is 1717 courtesy of the Greg Jein article. 1704 was the FJS Tech Manual number; STTM is a great source for ship names, but enough other cooks have stirred up NCC assignments, to the point where FJS's list can't always be relied upon -- aside from ship classes largely ignored in canon (scouts, destroyers, and dreadnaughts)

If you're referring to the CV-6, she was launched in 1936. And she wasn't the first. For as long as there's been a U.S. Navy, there's been a USS Enterprise. First one was a sloop that was captured by the US Navy from the British in 1775.

No, the Sovereign was the first. She was one of the new weapons that Starfleet was developing after the Enterprise D's first encounter with the Borg. But she failed in her trial runs, so she was mothballed around the time of of the TNG episode "Pegasus" and was used for design reference. Starfleet begin building a second Sovereign class ship that was to be named USS Honorius, but they renamed her Enterprise-E after the destruction of the D. After the new Enterprise had a successful Shakedown and successful first mission, they took the Sovereign out of mothballs, refit her, and commissioned her for active service.

Really great video, great models, great music. The Connie Refit Yorktown is gorgeous, I'll never get tired of the Connie refit. The Sovereign still has an elegant presence, a very close second favourite to the Connie Refit. Yamato also had several different registries, like Yorktown, because of writers not communicating and production mistakes. NCC-1305-E was from the episode "Where Silence Has Lease" and that was a fully acknowledged balls up because the writer hadn't spoken to Michael Okuda who was making the studio model for a later episode. A screen in "The Measure Of A Man" gives the registry NCC-24383. The actual studio model from "Contagion" has the registry NCC-71806, but the Yamato's Captain's log seen in the same episode gives NCC-71807. I'm inclined to think that 71807 or 71806 is the correct one because that episode has Yamato in it and we can see the registry on the ship or on data recovered from the ship.

You can film your current doing on a map as long as you wish. Later you have to restart the game, but before you press the "Engage"-Button, you have to change in the commandline, to get into the demorecord tool itself. There you can set there in which time what is meant to see. It's like a 3d render programm, but very not so complicated. This tool is for free. I hope you have a nice day as well 🥰🖖

what are the dates? i thought they were launch dates at first, but columbia's launch date was 4 years earlier. why does a constitution class exist in the 48th century? and a constitution refit in the 93rd century? Also, how do you travel, while in orbit (eg 1:25 "in orbit to earth")? orbit means you aren't going anywhere

I used the phrase "Stardate". Until the Excelsior-Class the TOS-Stardate is used. For the Ambassador-Class and later ships the TNG-Stardate is used. I didn't take for any ships the launch date. And for the orbit thing, i apologize. My english isn't the best yet.

If you wanna know the exact date of the stardates, i can upload a stardate calculator. I programmed one many years ago to calculate TOS and TNG stardates into normal date and back to stardate. But this will take a while 🥰🖖 The last i know is, that it was the most exactly stardate calculator ever made. I'll do a voting if anyone else want to use it.

I want to understand: if the Enterprise always was the flagship of the fleet, why she never was the class ship of her type?
@stodemorecordings
@stodemorecordings 14 күн бұрын
That's an interesting question. I don't know, there isn't a canon Enterprise-Class 🤷‍♂️
@ealan3694
@ealan3694 2 күн бұрын
Actually there is an Enterprise-class starship, and it's been right under our noses the entire time. I don't know what led to it, but the Star Trek production staff back in the Roddenberry day's obviously decided to name it the Entperise class and then reversed course to avoid naming any class "Enterprise" officially, but it was most certainly being played with early on. The Motion Picture tech manual "Star Trek : Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise" actually referred to the Constitution-class Refit, as the Enterprise-class. To quote the introduction of the guide ".... you might more easily acquaint yourself with life aboard Enterprise, the flagship of the Enterprise class and one of the most sophisticated vessels in the fleet." Additionally, it is actually evidenced onscreen as well! In "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" the door that Kirk steps through exiting the Bridge Simulator at the beginning of the movie, right before he asks Spock "Aren't you dead?" jokingly. One of the signs on the door as it slides open, clearly is labeled "Mark IV Simulator - Enterprise Class." A simulator bridge that is an almost exact replica of the Enterprise Bridge. (The real bridge apparently includes a "No smoking at any time" sign. Can't make that up!) And there are script refences to it as well. Technically, the class name Constitution-class that we all know in the here and now, is a retcon. The first 2 canoncal references to the Constitution-class, were in 1987 in The Next Generation epsiode "The Naked Now" season 1, epsiode 3. And in 1991 - "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" there's a scene where Scotty is looking over a paper blueprint of the Enterprise, and it's labeled "Constitution-class" at the top. Before those 2 onscreen references, the Constitution-class and it's refit were internally designated as the "Starship-class" which is supported by the bridge dedication plaque on the orignal Enterprise set (though these days, we would recognize it more as categorizing it as a "Starship"), and as the "Enterprise-class" by the production staff, script and manual writters. And I would say that is canonical, as it made it on screen in Wrath of Khan! These days, I've seen the common reference to it as "Constitution-class Enterprise-subtype" as sort of a compromise.

@@stodemorecordingsyeah he's thinking of the REFIT which was slayed to replace the original Yorktown that was also doing the '5- year mission' thing All as part of the Constitution project during Kirk's TOS run. After Scotty pioneered the new Constitution-type(The Enterprise-Class) - it was decided to build a replacement from the ground up for the Yorktown. Better from an engineering standpoint as well. And It just wouldn't make economical sense to upgrade the TOS Yorktown. Better to be utilized as a Training vessel & eventually scraped for extra parts to keep the remaining old-type Constitution & Miranda-class' in service. Which some were still in service during WOLF 359 event. A truly Venerable & timeless design..

Enterprise E was the prototype of the sovriegn line. And was press ganged into service hastily for the dominion war, and designated the Enterprise E to both replace the destroyed D and establish it as the Flagship. This is also why The E was not visually seen in the thick of the War as Alot of its systems were still being tested and it was not 100%. As such it was only used for specific missions requiring a lone ship with speed and power to press the advantage. The First Official ship of the line was the Sorerign. Same as how the San Paolo was the first official ship of the defiant class where as defiant was the prototype.

@ealan3694

@@stodemorecordings That is not correct. If I recall correctly, Sovereign and Enterprise-E were largely built side by side, with the Sovereign much further ahead in construction. Sovereign was the prototype (confirmed by Sovereign being the NX-designate of the class), it launched first and served as the test bed however. There were alot of teething issues with the design that were trialed on the Sovereign, and changes were made to the still under construction Enterprise as a result. This is a pretty common process in the first few ships of a class as they iron out any design flaws and hammer out the production process. Enterprise-E, which was originally slatted as the USS Honorius (only renamed Enterprise-E after the loss of Enterprise-D), was the 1st production (NCC) unit off-the line and in service, with the Sovereign under going another year or two of work for the settled changes to the design to bring her up to the Enterprise baseline design, and would then join the Enterprise as the 2nd Sovereign in service. I guess it depends on how you look at it, but really she's the big sister. Sovereign was first, she just had different duty, being a guinea pig, before she could also enter service. I know the wikis gloss over alot of that now these days (flaw of the wikipedia system, most of the source materials are being lost to the ages, which is sad), but in the early 2000's, that was what was established lore for the Sovereigns. Also, Yamato is definitely the Big Sister of Enterprise-D. Per the Star Trek The Next Generation Tech Manual by Sternbach and Okuda. "The construction of the USS Enterprise followed a path similar to that taken by the pathfinder vehicle, the prototype USS Galaxy, and the first production starship, the USS Yamato." Page 14 - Section 1.4 "Construction Chronology." And lastly, wasn't the USS Valiant the first production Defiant-class that we're introduced to? The Valiant episode was practically a full season earlier then the USS Sao Paulo / rechristened USS Defiant, which was fresh off the assembly line based on the dialogue. Just because Valiant was a "training" ship doesn't mean she wasn't official. Also, probably implies there were other Defiant-classes out there, because why would you use your first official production line ship as a traininig vessel? So probably just didn't see any of the others.
