Maleficent is the best mother ever. she just wants to protect Aurora so she wouldn't have to experience the feelings of being betrayed by someone who once they loved the most. and I think some parents can relate to this character. especially mothers. maleficent has been looking after Aurora for a long time and she loves her as her own child now that's why she dosent want Aurora to get hurt she dosent want to lose her.

Yes, but the answer isn't to forbid her to marry. A parent should be concerned about their children's well-being and they most certainly should protect them. However, once you start trying to control somebody and make their choices for them, you've turned love into control and domination. While I sympathize with Maleficent, she is wrong here. Aurora is an adult who deserves the right to make her own choices, whether Maleficent agrees with them or not.

@@invivoik Romantic love involves a lot of more touching and considering that Maleficent having her wings stolen was an analogy to rape, then no wonder she doesn't believe in romantic love. Any kind of intimacy frightens her, so touching, kissing and, well, sex --- it is all ultimately intimate. It is too much for her. Maleficent and Stefan didn't go further than kissing. So Maleficent (I can't believe we are discussing this tbh) is most likely a virgin, so yeap. If Maleficent ever finds herself a mate, it must be someone that she can trust the ways she trusts her wings: someone to carry her above the clouds and into the headwinds, who ultimately knows her boundaries and fears, someone she can trust to never falter. Honestly, only Diaval matches this description.
