I applaud Will for inviting Janet back and having the humility to own his responsibility in the breakdown, giving her the space to share what was on her heart and apologizing... Both of them apologized and were genuine about it. I am in awe... that was pure non-violent communication there... something we could all learn from.

It's no secret that most fans prefer Janet's version of Aunt Viv, but Daphne is an incredibly sweet and gracious lady. "Like whichever Aunt Vivian you want, or like both of us. It doesn't really matter, love the show!" I really love her attitude, and you can tell she loves the cast dearly. It was such a sweet moment seeing her meet Janet for the first time. She didn't even hesitate to give her a hug and told her "Welcome home." Daphne's a class act. I'm glad Janet and Will finally reconciled, and that Janet got to see her former cast mates again after all of these years.

That was so beautiful and profound. The second Aunt Viv faced a lot of criticism. Although the original Aunt Viv was incredible the second did a great job and her best. I think it would have been more believable if he simply remarried but nonetheless that was beautiful. Second aunt Viv gave off more of a grandmother vibe to the show in my opinion.
@fjorgyn74384 жыл бұрын
@@Awillii Janet's version always had a far more fiery and sassy personality and she *knew* where she came from and what she stood for even with her wealth and status. Daphne's was far more what you described; much more soft and subdued.

@@Awillii The first Aunt Viv (Janet) had a strong character and effectively stood beside the rest of the cast and kept up with Will, Alfonso, and James Avery. When the 2nd Aunt Viv (Daphne) was put into the show, it was fairly clear from the writing her character was reduced and seemed she was standing in the back of the cast, instead as their equals. I was confused watching her character become almost formulaic. It wasn't the fault of the actress, but I really think Will had a hand in it to get the writers to diminish the role. With that said, it is good Will and Janet buried the hatchet.

I wanted it to be longer. I wanted to see a whole 2 hours of both aunte Vivian's just talking. Anyone noticed that Alfonso left when Janis was on set? His hate is strong for her.

Understandably so this was indeed my favorite sitcom, with an African American professional family without any other race to carry the show from authenticity to love and caring.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Yep this was my all time favorite show from the 90s. I was a teen in junior high and high school at the time. I watched and liked other shows but this was my heart.

Very true. Forgiveness takes a humongous weight off of your heart. I am so glad they have reconciled. Their hugs and smiles were very genuine and real.

Wow! 30 years already? I'm not a fan or rap, so when I heard about this show, I thought, "Naaaa!" I made the mistake of watching a scene or two and I was hooked. Such a positive show. I'm so glad to see that Janet and Will finally made peace. Their eyes show their true feeling more then their words.
