I remember him coming through Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to visit his old friend Clark Terry, who was very sick. He then met a young Blind pianist named Justin Kauflin and, during that meeting, produced his first album. What a great human being! I will always love what he gave to us.

I don't like to speak ill will of the dead but let's keep it a buck here. Although, Quincy lived an extraordinary life that expanded to a legendary music career very few artists ever had. It's also just in saying all the accusations Mr. Jones made laughing at many other iconic music artists in recent years of his life including the late great Michael Jackson was absolutely wrong. If anything Quincy diminished a lot of his own legacy with all of his shenanigans. Why all of a sudden did Quincy decided to start throwing stones at other artists he were his friends or knew & worked with over the years is beyond me. Either way it was very tacky & bad on his part to leave the history of music he had so much to do with in a state of confusion to wonder truth from fiction today. And now will never know, but it wasn't cool at all in my book. What did he have to gain from it really? No matter his reasonings behind it as far as I'm concerned it was a real bltch move on his part. Quincy would have been better off just keeping his mouth shut & let sleeping dogs lie, period. The saddest thing about the late, great Quincy Delight Jones, Jr. (March 14th, 1933 - November 3rd, 2024) is that the younger generation don't know or don't even want to know about this superb giant and institution this man was. Jones was a top arranger for Hamp, Birks, Sassy, Nat, Miss D, and countless others. I've been listening to Quincy since I was a small child, thanks to me elders. I'm in my 'seventies, now, and I'm so grateful!!! There's no irreplacement for Quincy's artistry, PERIOD!!!
