It was at night, so the roller blinds were closed, the gate closed too, and the cameras turned on. In our house there is also anti-burglary door, so it was preety much safe. Then, when we heard a loud pound on our door, the cameras set off the alarm, but it was no heist, it was my mothers father. He wasn't really a father, he was just a smoking, drinking pathology asshole who would demand money from us for alcohol, and beat my mom in her childhood. So this guy started banging our gate for us to open it, I think he was drunk, but in the end, we called the police and they arrested him. The end bruh

The fact that OP from the 1st story didn't press charges shows an amazing amount of restraint from his side. That whole situation could've earned them at least 3 separate felonies + CPS involvement. He could've easily destroyed their lives, and they should be thanking havens that he didn't. Although he should definitely get restraining orders against all of them - based on the police report of that incident alone, the court would grant them in a nanosecond.

@@AnimeGamer501st I agree to an extent. If I was the OP - the brother, his wife and both his parents would be in cuffs inside the first minute of police arrival. What's worth observing is that police evidently sided with OPs judgement of the situation. Felonies are pursued by police regardless if you press charges or not. In this situation police basically let them go. They witnessed an unsuccessful break-in, forgery of legally binding documents, and all of this with kids in tow - that's child endangerment with high-risk behavior involved - a class 6 felony. If the police were to do their job to the letter - they would've arrested all 4 of them, OP's opinion irrelevant.

@HouseOfAlastrian Жыл бұрын
It is possible that all of this could have been prevented if he did go ahead and press charges against the sister-in-law when she originally assaulted him. But I don't think it's probable. These freaks have such a ginormous lack of self-awareness that they would blame him for 'sending a pregnant mother of 4 to jail' and double down on the whole 'Just do it for Dan!' thing. The cops really should have arrested them whether or not OP wanted to press charges since there was such obvious evidence of criminal activity... I mean they already committed break and enter, fraud and even littering right in front of the cops. But yeah... OP is being way too nice here, because he stated that the reason he didn't press charges was because he was concerned for the kids, who would be screwed if Dan loses his job and goes to prison. And I absolutely agree that CPS needs to get involved because these lunatics are definitely not raising those kids right. At least the whole extended family pretty much hates them and they're not welcome anywhere anymore, which is what the next update to this story is all about.

Story 1: I always find it weird how these families can treat one of their kids so horribly and then be surprised when that kid resents them and wants nothing to do with them and is willing to fight tooth and nail to avoid contact with them. These parents knew they treated their kid like garbage, knew they encouraged their golden child to do the same, they were under no illusions otherwise, and it was very much thrilling to see them be stuck in a situation where they were told just how cruel they were, in front of four cops, where they can't just bully their punching bag into silence anymore. If they had even a shred of decency in them, even the tiniest, faintest glimmer, this would be a wake-up moment for them, but I don't see it happening. They're the ones who raised Dan to be a good-for-nothing entitled jerk who leeches off of others, so it's only fitting that they be the ones he's leeching off of.
@zestracoon1552 Жыл бұрын
They are under an Illusion though. The self inflicted delusion that it was justified. My parents were a less extreme example but they had a reason for everything. "Toughen you up." "He was just playing, you took it too far." "You need to learn." The Golden Child (Brother) needed help to reach the stars and the Scapegoat (OP) was a waste who would never amount to anything. Why shouldn't they help the one worth helping. Possibly projecting their own insecurities onto their child instead of dealing with it. Point being, "They will die on that hill, but at least their be dead."

The meet up was at a restaurant, they left after OP offered to order food for them to which they accepted, not that much drama, but it was a better experience than before, OP stated that if Dan found a place to live he couldn’t be a co-signer for him in any bill Dan wasn’t or wouldn’t be able to pay. The troll who kept calling OP about the whole family man thing stopped calling after OP told the troll that the calls were just amusing to him. I’m glad the family backed up OP even the mother’s parents saw the true colors of how OP’s parents treated Dan like the golden child. Story 1: This guy has got hella restraint for all that crap his family did, I can’t imagine being in that situation however if I was I would not have been as nice as he was and I would’ve pressed charges against them

That first story has me scared. I own a house and I have a bunch of freeloaders in my extended family who use the "family looks out for each other" bs to get free stuff. Surprisingly it hasn't happened.

Get a gun, go to the range for practice, get a "Trespassers will ge shot, survivors will be shot again" lawn sign, and most importantly. If they do come, fire off a warning shot any place below the waist to avoid attempted murder charges. People like that never learn until their lives are put into actual danger.

My mother did all that to me. I had a computer and joined the US Army. My father had died and my brother said, " mom told me I can have your computer and I will be over to pick it up. I mailed it to myself in Alaska. It was just sad.

If I was the 1st story's OP I would respond after the "Are you proud of yourself?" Line with "I am more than proud" or something like that
@AnnaK101 Жыл бұрын
i hope OP gets a lot more security set up, and gets a guard dog. A doberman or rottweiler. One that can take an arm off an intruder if required. OP should also install a big fence as well. Seems like the family will stop at nothing to get that house, and they might even burn it down out of spite. Edit: forget being nice for the kids. The kids are being used as shields to ensure they get what they want.

maybe the most shocking part is not the breaking and entering to steal the house and put the eldest brother and his brood in it, but them being solidly convinched this was the most natural thing to do.

Story 1: Oh boy.. i knew an update was coming to this one.... but holy donkey balls, that family is just absolutely insane. I feel bad for the OP here... but why didnt he press any kind of charges here? I know he finally go to speak his mind and air out all his dirty laundry here on his parents and Dan and SIL, and it was probably extremely satisfying with cops in his corner, but i would've pressed some kind of charges... it could've been the only way to get his message through. Its also good to see that a majority of the extended family is now supporting the OP as well, as it seemed that a lot of it was split, but the OP seems to be getting the support that he deserves. Hopefully thats the end of the drama here for the OP. Story 2: I hate customers like that... being a cook/chef of 20 years. Eating your entire meal, then complaining is pretty much screaming that you are just trying to be a scammer. I hate it when managers cave to their whining in situations like this. I wouldn't have given this woman anything, much less 10%. The fact that she keeps bringing this up over 30 years later just goes to show how immature she is too.

Story 1: To answer your question, OP had said that he didn’t want to press charges because he didn’t want to punish his nieces and nephews for the actions of their crappy parents. The kids were probably being raised as spoiled narcissists as well, but they were still young enough where they might still be saved. But he was still willing to pull that trigger if it came down to that. I don’t entirely agree with that decision. Honestly, if he wanted to save his nieces and nephews from their toxic family, he should have thrown the book at them. Charge his parents, his brother, and his sister-in-law with trespassing, breaking and entering, destruction of private property, grand larceny, fraud, and any other charges he could think of. Have CPS take the kids into custody and put them into foster care. Then as his family are spending time in prison for their multiple convictions, keep in contact with the nieces and nephews while they’re in foster care. If their attitudes seem to improve by being in a loving and nurturing environment, begin to make arrangements to have them move into the house and become their legal guardian. After all, the kids were innocent in all of this and deserve a chance at redemption. Of course if they continue to act like spoiled little brats while in foster care, then screw them. Let them stay in foster care until they’re legal adults. Because it’s very likely that the cost of the legal battle would have cost the entitled parents their house. Then when the entitled parents, and their entitled golden child and his entitled wife all get out of prison, they’ll all be homeless and unable to get their kids/grandchildren out of foster care.
