Story 1: Not a jerk. So he won't share his inheritance, but you're expected to share yours? No, what a hypocrite. You need to put your foot down, OP. But I wouldn't recommend making your husband pay rent, that will only cause unnecessary drama. Story 2: Not a jerk. The wife should have thought about this before getting married. Also, it's ridiculous she proposes something and insists on being the only one who can benefit from it. OP is right, his cousin should probably divorce that woman. Story 3: Not a jerk. OP is not some bank account her sister can access whenever she wants. It's extremely irresponsible of her to keep having unprotected sex when their financial situation is so unstable. You're right OP, if god is the one who provides, he can be the one who pays. You are NOT responsible for your sister's children.

Story 3. Not a jerk if I was in that position I would tell 'em "no, I don't want to. Please get the money from somewhere else this time". Accused of being selfish? *Shows multiple cases where I financially helped out before, proving that I'm a literal sugar daddy for my fucking family* Getting further accused of things? "I'm not their bank account, end of the story. Accept that or it means bye for good until you and everyone else come to your senses". Boom, end of it. It either results of them finding other ways to finance themselves or with me getting rid of money baggers who just happened to be my family.

I have a theory about 2nd story: wifey in it for cousin's money, but still wants to fool around without getting caught cheating and divorced, found out her husband can actually replace her whenever he wanted, wants back together exclusively. For story 3. No she doesnt mean it in a hurtful way when she says maybe a miscarriage would be for the best. ive been in a similar situation. she means another baby is the last thing they need because they cant afford the kids they have now. Another child could sink the boat that is that family and it could also mean the entire family growing into poverty. Sometimes even the most gifted things can come with a burden that you cant carry.

Are you kidding? The townhouses are a business, there are costs and risks associated with each unit, you have to charge rent. The rent can be lowered, a sweetheart deal if you will. I'm pretty sure that although the inheritance is hers solely, legally the townhouses are family property as soon as they were purchased. That she used some of her earnings to contribute makes this an open and closed case.

Last story: op clearly is tired of putting her own life on the hold when she have to take care of her sisters family. So for her it literally would be a good thing if her sister would have an miscarriage. It doesn't make her a bad person, it only makes her a person whose life also matters. I hope that she stop giving any money to her sister, at the moment they are living in a toxic relationship and it can turn back to normal relationship only when there is zero money involved, after that they can be just sisters again.

The inherentence story was strange. They don't seem to have a marriage but a legal reason to live together. The husband doesn't seem to understand that a marriage is a partnership, where he should want what's best for their marriage and not continue acting like he's single. He was being hypocritical in claiming his inherentence was his but the wife's ingerentence wasn't her's but their's. Where had the husband with the triplet boys been the whole time, that he didn't know how to deal with the boy's medical issues? The last story was unbelievable, guilting the brother in giving his sister money. Children or not, if they are having finicial trouble, they need to evaluate their spending to see where their money is unnecessarily going. Then sit down and set up a strict budget for only those payments that must be made. The question that should be asked is, has the sister and her husband repaid the money the brother gave them? If they're having financial troubles, having another baby should not happen, and measures should be taken so it doesn't happen. The brother was right to close his free wheeling bank. Family or not, there are limits in helping others when it's treated as something to be expected. Mom needs to stay out of daughter's financial problems. She a grown married woman with a family, and should take responsibility for the problems encountered.

So husband gets inherentance blows it all on having fun with his family and scolds his wife for so much as mentioning his money, then she gets an inheritance and buys the building with it, turning her inheritance into an investment while allowing her husband to put what he would have spent on rent in his pocket every month for "fun money" but she should let him dip into her passive income as well.... Her inheritance has already benefitted him significantly more than his ever did her.

@jazistar8729

Adding on to this, I feel like she meant it in a way where she doesn't want the new baby to suffer as well as the other children because of their parents' stupidity. Not being financially responsible enough to take care of kids you already have is not a good environment to bring in yet another mouth to feed. Further pushing them financially. There was s story similar to this one when a woman had just gone to college got the news that her mother was having another child, which was going to bring the total up to 7 and the parents expected her to use her inheritance to help with the baby because their parents never had enough to take care of the existing children. She said she had a rough childhood and she didn't want her siblings to suffer what she did even more with a new child. Sometimes being a good parent isn't enough. Parents need to understand that if they can’t provide for their existing children already it is selfish to keep adding more with no regard to the other children. Obviously things happen, but in this story with 4 kids already the parents aren't thinking about the children at all. Honestly I feel like the sister might just enjoy the attention that she gets for having the only grandchildren.

somewhat. in all fairness im only about 4 minutes into the story but i think OP is being unreasonable. they said they wanted to keep their own inheritance but she made her inheritance into her job. now her husbands job pays straight into the family fund while she doesnt contribute a dime since she doesnt work outside of being a tenant. if she wanted to put an amount equal to the inheritance in her account thats one thing but to make your husband pay for the family while you make as much as him and dont contribute shit to the family is incredibly selfish as well

@@bigploppa154 I have to disagree, yes, OP used their inheritance to fuel their job renting out townhouses. That is their job, unless they have a joint account, OP has no obligation to share money they make from their job with their S/O. Marriage or getting in a relationship in general doesn't mean instant shared funds with the exception of inheritance. Besides, it stopped being inheritance money when they used it all up buying the land and buildings. Now it's income money, so it has no connections to the S/O if they don't have a joint account that it goes into. The only money that is to be shared is money OP actively puts into a shared account, everything else is theirs. (This is of course assuming there is no prior agreement stating they will actively share funds.) And from the sound of it, the S/O has a hard time sharing, but expects everything else to be shared with him. It's not just the income from her job he expects her to share, it seems he fully expected her to let him use the money in its inheritance stage to go off and have fun while OP doesn't throw their money away for such frivolous things. Honestly, inheritance money isn't your '200 extended vacations' money, it's money you're supposed to use in the event you get caught up in debt or have an emergency...

Story 2#: In my opinion, I don't think that open relationships work. Most of the time they would end up in a divorce, in a break-up or maybe even getting back to close relationship bc of the jealousy. I don't like them and I don't recommend it to anyone. (Again, this is only my opinion.) And it seems like that the wife wanted this "open relationship" situation to work on her only. The thing is that if you want this kind of relationship, you need not to get jealous easily and obviously letting your lover to have their side of this open relationship as well. The wife clearly wanted to make love and other relationships with other men and of course she wanted to make sure that she isn't gonna lose the husband who it looks like she has him as a plan B, I guess, just in case that she won't find someone better than him and if she did find someone better than him, she would want a divorce. It's not the best to get married in so early age when you don't even have experiences. When the husband started having new people around him too, she saw that her plan didn't go the way she wanted and she got jealous. Well, being an idiot it's not an option, that's what I'm gonna say😃✨✋

Something similar is going on with my family. My grandmother lost both her children (my mom and my auncle). As such, when she passes me and my cousin will inherit her property (a house surrounded by some land). The problem is with my dad. He's under the delusion that he and my aunt will get it, plus he's always had trust issues. He constantly sais that he doesn't care if "my aunt will sell her part", he just wants a little area left to built a vacation house. My aunt has no objection on her son and me inheriting the place (we're both adults at this point). Even if my mom was alive he wouldn't get anything since inheritance isn't common property between spouses. I've told him many times how things will work out, and if we will be in desperate need of money, me and my cousin will even consider selling the place, but he won't listen. Just some character information: - Me M23: masters student, currently working on getting a job as a teacher - My cousin M18: Almost done with high-school, college is definitely on the table - My aunt F52: masters student engineering (yes, at this age, we're graduating at the same time), policewoman. -My dad M47: boat constructor, welder, works 7am to 3pm and spends the rest of the day at the bar, didn't graduate high-school. I felt to mention education as an important factor. Anyway... any advice?

If you want the inheritance to go to you and your cousin and not have to worry about it being snatched out from under you, I would talk with your grandma and a lawyer to make sure he can't do anything. If anything, to get him to back down, you can have it set so a small area will be marked off for him and nothing else. This way if you want to meet him halfway, you can, but you're not obligated to if your grandmother has decided (whether she made the decision or it's just something that will inevitably happen) to leave it all to the two of you. I'm not an expert, I just know from experience what happens if you let fate decide where the chips may land. My grandfather passed away about 6-7 years ago from cancer and didn't have a written will (that we knew of), just promised us all of his belongings. Everything was supposed to go to my mom and her sister (my aunt) in a 50/50 split. Instead my mom walked away with $75,000 USD, my aunt walked away with somewhere around $85,000 USD, and we're pretty sure my grandpa's gold digger of a wife walked away with over about $400,000 because she sold the house and everything in it before anyone could even go through his belongings. She barely even waited a week before it was all sold and she high tailed it to another state. So yeah, don't get by on a promise to hand down, make sure it's in a written will and that a lawyer you trust has gone over and made it official.

Story 1: The reason y the hubby didn't want to divorce is cause he will not have a place to live or he will have to end up paying rent if he continues to live there...also he might end up having to pay for child support too...also if by any chance he ends up with either 1 of the the child for custody he will have to spend more on medical by himself...so if he gets a divorce on a big run he will not be able to support both himself & the child (if he gets any that is) without the wife's support only thought about himself...very cunning & malupative person...think fast & early...before they guilt trap you with the " for the children's sake"...

Ah, that first one has a problem. Emotionally I agree 100%. Problem is, that is not quite what happened. He spent his inheritance to go on vacation. She spent her inheritance to advance her new career as a landlord. The money coming from the rent is not inheritance. It is income. Maybe she won't see it that way, but the divorce court will.

But the houses that generate the income, are hers no? If a pre-nuptial was signed, then divorce court wld still rule that after divorce, those assets are hers right? A workaround, wld be to contribute to the family acct in equal amts.

Story #3- WoW... Why are ppl so selfish &OBLIVIOUS about it??! Forget what your family/parents have to say about your TRUE FEELINGS on this situation! &Keep telling them what you REALLY feel. Why is your cash-strapped Sis purposely inseminating herself??! That's ridiculous! I'm still on the OP's side, even w/that ending remark, cuz she SEES the irresponsible act her sister is truly making by doing this over &over again. "&" The fact that it's affecting HER OWN life, in such a major way! She has a RIGHT to feel however she feels about this sitch.🤨😬😗🤔

My SIL says she is asexual, and wanted to open her relationship for her husband to fill his needs elsewhere. I warned him against it as it could be either used against him if they ever got divorced, or what if she ended up wanting to date, too? Well, he had an unfulfilling minor experience with someone else, and then wouldn’t you know it, then my SIL started talking to guys. The whole thing devolved to a point she was living with us for a month. They have a bad marriage outside of this, but it didn’t help anything. They’re closed now. Honestly, I think they and their two boys would be better if they split. Both are fairly selfish. The kids lose in all of this whichever way it plays out.

my thoughts about the last story at the end of it... i dont think the OP said that to be a jerk i think she worded it wrong. i dont think she wants the sister to miscarry she thinks that having another baby will most likely destroy them and she only wants wats best for her sister but what i think the sister should do even though i dont think she will is look into adoption when she realizes its to much. therefore the sister and husband has a little more money and the baby is born and has a chance to live a good life

Story 2: I’ve heard this story so many ways, the one asking for an open relationship never expects the other partner to flourish after not wanting an open relationship. Poly relationships exist and work but this is not it. This is a selfish partner browbeating their SO into something they never wanted.

As a diabetic you mostly don’t really have to watch out for diets, well at least for me. The poking part is annoying I can say that but if you get the right spot then it will be fine and done on the first try. I hope all babies grows up healthy enough to function on their own.

also sounds like his inheritance was a hell of a lot less. that does make a difference, like a few thousand it's a couple of holidays whatever, enough to buy the building + a house and land, that's life changing amounts of money. was he selfish sure, but there is a huge difference in the amounts of inheritance here which is relevant. if my misses inherited 10k and just wanted to have fun with it (and we didn't have any financial problems) sure. but then I inherited a couple million, yeah there is a huge difference as as my SO, of course it would be shared in some way

Story 1. This whole thing is very weird and one-sided. The inheritance yea - the guy was being a hypocrite about it and is totally in the wrong. However, sharing their incomes as a family is totally normal. Shouldn't be unheard of to share the money etc. The guy paid for rent and shared his income with the family - all he did was ask the woman to share her income now that she was also an earner. Asking the guy to start paying his wife, while previously he paid and covered her part as well - is very scummy.
