Podcast is Called : ASN Humans Are Space Orcs , HFY and other stories
--------------
This Story is Classified as HFY or Humanity Feck, Yea , but what does the Mean?
-------------
HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.
-------------
Taken from the FAQ of the r/HFY subreddit.
Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

@@vikingreflections2824 HEH!!! The Leep'theui eat ANYTHING... EVEN ROCKS AND METAL!!! Pigeons may come in immense numbers, but the Leep'theiu NOT ONLY bend light [better than (so called) 'Predator')] but have neural enhancements making speed, along with insane precision, on SEA, ETHER, AIR and LAND EFFORTLESS!!! They bend light, they alter matter, they devour EVERYTHING, and they fear NOTHING. But we taught them all in sniper, EES, EoD, and S.D. regimens. Unlike their ancestors from over 3.9 billion plus years in the past, we have empowered them with infinite internal and external regeneration, highly advanced metabolic process, advanced excretory capabilities, strong toxic tolerances, and PENTAhensility. They can individually target, aim at, and fire upon 5 independent, separately moving targets at ranges from a molecule from the weapon's barrel to thousands of miles away, and knowing the speed of light, through all known [and many unknown] atomic media (such as Densurium, specifically) without even opening their eyelids or moving their heads, as they can literally see through everything, even their own individual body mass. While it may not be FACTUALLY 'impossible' to kill them [as in on a one-on-one basis], it is FUNCTIONALLY impossible to kill them in 'warm' mode when the trillions of them are unleashed on entire arms of galaxies in mere minutes through hyperspace drop pods. They were designed with only one purpose: DEVOUR. By fang, by claw, by projectile weapon, by particle beam weapon, by emissive radiation weapon, or even fissile and fusile detonic weapons... They are tireless in their drive to destroy everything, obliterate all... And then come home for some blood sacrifices, a little pat on the head, a scritch under the chin, and a basket of fresh meat.

A perfect example of "ignorance is bliss". An unburdened simple life where you're loved and cared for vs knowledge of the uncaring universe and our insignificant place in it. Secondly I feel like the "alien" writing this story had cats for it's distant ancestors. xD And lastly it's actually an existing theory that we might be one of the very earliest sentient and intelligent lifeforms in the universe. One such factor being that we're still in the first 0.01% (or something like it) of the entire lifetime of the universe. So we're relatively very early either way. Heck we predict that the universe will stop producing new stars around year 1 trillion. And we're only at around 13.8 billion atm. But there were a whole bunch of other factors that played into it as well, that I don't remember at the moment. This story takes place around a trillion trillion years into the future, since "iron stars" have apparently become fairly common.
@cathoderay305
@cathoderay305 5 ай бұрын
Personally, I've always thought that humanity might be the earliest life form in the universe to achieve sentience. I'm basing this on the fact that we've received no radio signals similar to any of those we've been transmitting for over a hundred years. If another species of life evolved into sentience, I would expect to see some evidence of communication that could be recorded and be recognized as something produced by another intelligence. Binary code, communications with spacecraft, entertainment, or any other signal that stands out as something other than the emissions of celestial bodies.
@Sanquinity
@Sanquinity 5 ай бұрын
@@cathoderay305 Space is big though. Those radio signals only span a tiny fraction of even our own galaxy, let alone the universe. We might not be the "first", but we're certainly early. And it might be that other sentient species also just didn't get to the stage of interstellar travel yet.

Ah, a fun mention of a very theoretical stellar construct. As of right now, iron stars are a theory only. Scientists believe iron stars may be a thing in the future, but that's several quadrillion years of time in the future and even then, it will only become a reality due to the massive over-abundance of iron in the universe at that point.

Thanks for the upload, great reading as usual!😁👽 Nice story and good writing overall, but as usual with so many authors, no concept of numbers and their meaning: "... I was aware iron stars races had a strange relationship with time, but this statement's disregard for quintillions of years as a rounding error..." Point is: quintillion is such a big number to throw out there it might impress the reader, but realistically that iron star wouldn't even form before 10^1500 years, so quintillion (10“18) is actually a small number in this context, but definitely not a "rounding error". Also that Bismuth 209 half-life is 10“19 years, it's definitely a replica of a replica of a replica if we assume we're this far into the future 🥸

I like how this story, deliberately or inadvertently, perfectly encapsulates reality in a metaphore. Humans are made by Yeshua, allowed free will, but by design are most fulfilled with Him. Once you commit, there is no reason or desire to go back to isolation. It looks idiotic to those operating solely from the mind, but that's because the mind is limited, and the Creator is not, so comprehension with that limited tool is impossible. However, understanding of thentruth can be achieved through experience and acceptance... not sure I explained this well, but it is almost mind blowingly clear to those with understanding.
