My first electric guitar was an Ibanez GAX70. It had an SG shape with a bolt-on neck but it was very heavy for some reason. I have fond memories playing that guitar, even though it wasn't very good. Two years ago I bought a Korean made 1996 Ibanez RG270 for $250 and it has been my main guitar since. It came with one of those string-through Floyd Rose bridges and I replaced it with an original Floyd Rose. I also put Seymour Duncan pickups in it. The guitar is in great shape despite it being almost 30 years old, although there are some sharp fret edges I need to take care of. Seeing this guitar made me want to post this comment.

Thanks for sharing! I totally remember the GAX model from the early 2000s. One of my friends had one, it was a maroon color. It was a pretty decent guitar, I liked playing it. My other friend had a nice entry level Ibanez S-series model back then as well, another good one. That Korean made RG sounds pretty cool for sure.
