I agree with you about Bonnie. They always downgrade her. Without her most if not all the main characters woulda been dead. She’s the real hero of the show. She was underrated smh and deserved the loved she deserved.

Damon's revenge is 3rd on my top revenge in the TVD universe. 2nd is Klaus, Killing your entire family and let you live knowing you can't do sh!t about it. The first place is Quetsiya's revenge, she makes you immortal and make you regret mortality. And even when you think you'll be happy in the next life... SIKE! she is waiting for you on the other side.

I don’t know if this was the writers’ intentions, but Katherine’s methods seem designed to break Stefan down, make him rely on her, and get him vulnerable enough to sleep with her lollll. (I just say I don’t know the writers’ intentions because her form of “exposure therapy” is still promoted by a lot of “experts”.) HONESTLY, the idea of throwing him in the water and having him be saved is better. But don’t sacrifice homeless people to scientific experimentation and torture!!

5 month late here but every time i see this arc it pisses me off writers literally just said Stefan ptsd will be healed from sexing with Kathrine yeah now lets focus on Damon that we had no idea how to shift the focus on him so yeah lets write this lazy augustine vampire story and make him being tortured for 5 years instead of 3 months like Stefan to show off which one is a cool brother XDD

I didn’t think about it being juxtaposed with Stefan since Silas had already compared his situation to Stefan’s (even though their situation wasn’t the same), but maybe you’re right. But I also feel like they screwed up Damon’s character in this arc as well. Like what I thought since season one it had been a gradual and jagged trajectory upwards-until psych it was a ruse? Also they didn’t convincingly convey that Damon really didn’t have a choice in leaving Enzo and NEVER coming back to do anything, in spite of him taking the time and mental energy to get his revenge.

@@NoelleMar yeah they fucked up like if we go deeper there shit ton of characters that had potential and were fucked over fox example even at the end they ruined Alaric and Damon bond , and then Matt increasingly becoming more and more annoying and useless as show went on even tho he had some potential in pilot and few episodes in 1 season but they didnt go that route instead they made him whiny and irrelevant so its pretty sad
