Well Elijah has always had his favorites and those are Rebekkah and Klaus. We never really see him very protective towards Kol or Finn, but like many I think I would have liked him to at least hold a grudge against Elena and her group of friends ... the only one we saw a bit of reaction and anger was Klaus and In the end he didn't even do some kind of revenge. That's why I like that Kol had his happy ending in TO since we even saw him yelling his mistakes to his brothers which was quite satisfying, and we even saw a little more why Finn acted the way he acted.

I'm writing this comment while watching the video, so, here's the answer to some of your questions: - Elena not only dyed her hair, she also cut it. - Tyler gave the house to Matt 'cause he's human and that'd make it a "safe house" for other humans and vampires that had been invited in. - Matt's not in The Originals. Neither is Katherine. - No one knows how the cure works 'cause nobody's used it yet. - This episode and that letter Klaus received is the kick start for The Originals.

"The Vampire Diaries" takes a nosedive once "The Originals" starts because all of the interesting characters leave and then takes another huge nosedive a few seasons later. Honestly, I've found it to be a much more entertaining show than the original, albeit some of the huge plot lines are extremely annoying to me.

The first three season was top tier for me and things went downhill in season 4 and completely hit rock bottom in season 5

I think "The Originals" just has better characters that fans got used to propping up "The Vampire Diaries". When they left, a whole lot of what was good about the show left, too. Season 7 has been such drudgery to get through.

I hate that they try to paint the main characters as the “good guys” and the other characters like Klaus as “bad guys”, when the only difference between the crimes they’ve committed is that Klaus has been alive for long enough that they’ve added up.
