Im not going to lie, seeing these cockpits are really awesome and i want one so bad but seeing the work it takes to wire them up like on Warthog Project, it really made my anxiety freak out. See your resources really makes me feel more comfortable with the idea of getting it done someday.

"Hi Scott, you have me amazed with the enormous contribution you are making, I have no words to describe it. I have been following all your tutorials and videos from the beginning, and you never cease to amaze me. I fly more helicopters than jets like the F-18, but I am very interested in seeing how far we will go with the tremendous work you are doing. Thank you very much as always for your time and effort."

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the comment 😃 I know I’ll be bored after this cockpit is finished… so I may need to build a helo pit 😂😂 I’m thinking a Huey pit … what do you usually fly
@19PipoGarcia

Hi Scott, I usually fly the AH-64D Apache, although I also fly the UH-1H Huey and the KA-50 BlackShark 3. I also really like the A10-C II and the F/A-18C. In fact, I've been eagerly following your videos to build the Apache's TEDAC, as I've mentioned to you before. Greetings and encouragement from the Canary Islands.

Thank you for the contribution to the community and sharing your experience and knowledge. I would love to see a how to video and curious what you are going to do for your project with the stand by instruments cluster and RWR. I was looking at OpenHornet and they are using LCDs and mechanical. I would love to see a tutorial with Helios. Open Hornet has a part number list but I can’t figure out how you can look up those parts. I tried googling but controller boards don’t come up like for the stand instrument panel.
@aHornetsNest
@aHornetsNest 4 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment!! I think for the standby instruments it’ll be a LCD screen at first so I can get it functional - but eventually it’s move to mechanical gauges 😃 I think a Helios episode will definitely need to happen 😃 I did find that with OH but I’ll see if I can make a guide for OH parts

Scott how do you open files from open hornet to fusion360? I noticed you made changes by labeling your MDF parts and the tongue and groove slot modifications. OH shows the files as MS edge files (.SDG) I need to make adjustments because instead of using MDF I am using 1/8th steel to build. Do you know to easily make that change in fusion?
@aHornetsNest
@aHornetsNest 4 ай бұрын
hey mate! sorry for the late reply, not sure why this comment was 'held for review'! If you download the fusion files from their website, or links in the discord, you can save all the fusion MCAD files and make adjustments and then save those as a drawing file of your choice. If you get stuck shoot me a message on Instagram or Facebook and I'll see if can find a link for you

I took a look at the interconnect drawings and am a little confused by some of the nomenclature and how that matches to real components. I am not used to a couple of the symbols. So, my question is will there be a time when you review the interconnect and shown the components and how they are wired? This whole project just fascinates me to no end. I really was not looking to build a specific type of sim, but I may build this just because.

HI Scott! I was trying to print some files, but the size was extremely off , i need to put it on 3000% to come close to the original size.. I'm not sure if the size is correct or not. Can you help? Is there a reference somewhere I'm not finding? Thanks for amazing content!

Thanks for much for the comment! The OH files were exported in inches …. Have a look and see if you can change your slicer settings to inches and then re import the file :) let me know how you go
@kuffeek4164

@@aHornetsNest Hello again, thanks for the tip! =) I double checked and that's right, the file is in inches! I don't seem to be able to change the units on the file itself, but I can increase the %. so 1 inch is 2.54mm, so I cranked the % up to 2540% in the slicer and now all the measurements seem to be correct. I have no reference to compare with but think it turned out right. for example: FDM_OH1A2-15_EMERG JETT BRKT_-_V16.3mf= is x 1.75 inch=44.45mm y 6.50 inch=165.10mm z 6.63 inch=168.35mm so Creality print have an overal % so I adjusted to 2540% what do you think? is that a good solution ? Thanks for your help.😀

I also have problem with dimensions. When i try to slice an stl with Creality Print dimensions are wrong, item is so small.
@aHornetsNest
@aHornetsNest 4 ай бұрын
Mmm interesting. So the .SVG files which were the cutting files I speak about carry dimensional data inside the file… same as the .3MF files for 3D printing I wonder if there is a setting in your slicer that is causing you grief. I use Cura Slicer, both ultimaker and Elegoo versions and the 3D files load fine. OH does recommend Prusa slicer. Let me know how you go if you trial a different slicer 😃
@user-tz6iz9yq6v

Problem solved. Stl files are at INCHES so if you have problem with slicer just scale it to 2540% and it should be okay
