your tutorials really are the gold standard for the rest of us plebs - your great, deliberate explanations are an eye openers for the processes and workflows that save time, build understanding and ultimately progress this great hobby for others through lowering the barrier to entry - to a yes I can do this and become an expert too in good time. On a side note would be great to have a specific tutorial on the custom parts you go through producing- ie those dzuz panels. Kepp the vids coming and I'm really looking forward how you great channel evolves

Thank you so much for your comment! It’s comments like these that keep me going and inspired to create the content 😃 I’m glad you’re enjoying the series I will definitely do a tutorial on how to make DZUS compatible panels - I think that one will be a real handy one to have so others can make their dream cockpits 😃😃 see you next episode

nice video's, At the moment I am building some extra controls for my universal sim rig and your video's are of a great help, just starting today on wirering and programing of the first version of my fully custom landing gear lever! :) one note at 3:22 I think you could have easely printed that part without the supports in those holes, saves printing time, material, and the cleanup time O7

Thanks mate! That’s awesome Keep me updated how you go 😊😊 if they were a solid straight walled hole I probably could have - the support supports the counter bored step which provides a little support for the heat insert - 90% of them them print okay with out it, but for the small amount of extra time/filaments it’s not to bad for the guarantee of them moulding properly 😃 See you next episode 🫡🫡

@@aHornetsNest ah yeah if there is a counter bored step in it, you do need it! Yeah, its not that much extra but all little bits help ey :)

@@aHornetsNest a lot of aircraft a little bit haha, I always have trouble deciding which one to learn/fly with so many great options. but till now I have flown the viggen and mig21 the most. but recently started to really learn the f16, still a long way to go, but I find it easier to stick with this one because you can do all missions with it. how do you do it when you fly other aircraft than the hornet, do you use only your hotas, or do you bind your switches in dcs bios also for the other aircraft? I am thinking of coding it as much as possible to be a normal HID joystick and just be able to assign the controls in-game

Nice one! I never got into the F-16 , but it does look cool Main aircraft I fly are F18, F-5, UH-1, UH-60 The cockpit will be pure F-18, and then the rest are fairly HOTAS based, with a couple keyboard inputs And then if I want some specific paneling like the F-5, which I did for Ep1 and 2 I’ll make those button boxes HID controllers

I am debating ordering a CNC to cut out the frame, how did you go about ordering your cut out frame? Did you just send over the cut files from the release folder? Any tips for starting with the frame would be great. And whats your take on getting a cnc for the project vs ordering parts as needed. AWESOME SERIES! You are very motivating to watch

Thank you very much 🙌🏼 I was very fortunate that I could send my cutting files to a friend that uses CNCs for his job. Based off how hard it was for me to find a CNC shop to actually cut the project, if I didn't have my friend to do it - I would have just bought a CNC - open hornet on their website mentions the tools expected for the project, and the CNC brand/make I believe is mentioned there. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask 😀

Great video. What is the name of the 2 long vent parts?
@aHornetsNest
@aHornetsNest 4 ай бұрын
hey mate! thanks for the comment! The long ones I point two on the rack are the Lower ECS Vents (OH2A1A1-32) that are part of the Lower Instrument Panel Assy. And the large vent I'm sanding before I cut to the building of the console is the Aux Vent Plug for either the left or right side console (OH5A1A1-48 or OH4A1A1-44).
