Hi, Nice to acquaint. In 2017, I fell in love with Belize and planned to go back around 2020, then Covid. I recently started looking into moving to Belize again and research brought me here. Do you live in Belize? I met a lady named Valery? Barbara? and I think she has roots in Belize but lived in the US. We met at the bar/restaurant/store next to Margaritaville on Almond Beach, Hopkins Village. I loved walking around the villages, getting my hair braided, and enjoying the cultural center. Would love to connect when I visit next month.

I have a 7 yr old child. I travel half year, the other half im here for my daughter who goes to school with her dad. Divorced kids are still healthy and happy, and they are used to spending time away from their parents because of the nature of 2 different household non divorced parents dont quite understand when a parent travels away from them. Btw, love that you title it like you do. This country has not nurtured or cared for its greatest gift and treasure. Its time for us to take our blessings, gifts, talent, ability to shift and move cultures to more appreciative countries.

America has some terrible roads. If you land in Newark NJ take route 22 and you'll see terrible roads not in any developing countries. I ordered cabinets from Homedepot and they lost the shipment of 5 cabinets. I ordered a washing machine from Lowes and it didn't arrive. They couldn't fill it. I hired a contractor and he started the job then left to do another job. He was just dragging out the work. He put the wrong tile on the bathroom floor and tried to tell me it's okay. No it's not. I don't have these issues in Jamaica when I order from Courta and Singer. The goods arrived on time and concentrator doesn't leave the work.

And just because you have the same complexion doesn’t mean we are the same people! We are different spiritually, mentally and physically. Africa was the birth place for all mankind which wasn’t called Africa at the time but Central America is my home and I will defend it and will not let it end up like the American black neighborhoods are. Belizeans lived under British rule and we had unique experiences compared to Black American society. Slavery was ended around 1834 and many Belizeans of black decent had their own lands and some even had their own business as well. Way before the Black Americans had those rights and privileges. I am not saying everything was perfect in Belize; however it was much better than what African Americans had to go through during the 1800's in US society. Belize NEVER had a civil war and it was far more peaceful than US society in the 1800's. Like any former Colony. The main issue and focus for Belizean people was to become independent and fair labor wages. Basically, one cannot compare and try to equate a Belizean mentality to that of an African American who had a totally different past and culture in the USA.

@@remogatron1010 for one genius I’m Darungu/ Garifuna..and no we are not under that rule anymore do more studying..and my people never went into slavery read our history..yes we started out on a boat thanks to our African brothers who help capture us and sell us off but we were able to take over the ship and it crash into an island where we mix with the natives there. Shadow slavery yes because after we survived going through Roatan , Guatemala,Honduras and finally ending up in Belize we had to work for pennies but had our freedom and owned our own. One thing about you people you are so emotional and always trying to assimilate someone into your culture or take over another. And Black Countries in Africa is ran by 8 different nations as of today. But where is your land you can return to? What birth rite do you have where you can go claim land? Africa is nothing and never will be because of the actions it took against it’s so called brothers back then and one person of the same complexion can’t speak for every other ethnicity of the so called black race…you people are not in our circle/ especially not the Afro American!! You people need to take several seats creating self genocide.
