The only question I have about this, is if replacing The Amazon (for instance) with fields of cattle is environmentally sustainable or not? Perhaps this comes back to how much we eat everyday. Listening to Dr Cywers made me realise less is more if it is the correct food type. So if everyone ate this way, maybe less land would be needed for farms to be filled with cattle or sheep etc.
@frenchgrama Жыл бұрын
@@marilyngoldie5946Everyone is so caught up on how many forests are being felled for animal grazing BUT no one ever talks about how many acres and acres of trees were felled to plant grains, vegetables and fruits worldwide - AND the precious water needed to irrigate them for the sooo few nutrients they provide - all grains, fruit and vegetables are is energy whereas protein is a complete food when the animals are grazed AND we need only 2 small protein based meals (along with the fat that comes with the meat) daily to thrive compared to the massive quantities of vegetables, grains and fruit people eat to feel full.

@@marilyngoldie5946 From a medical point of view long term vegans and vegetarians are malnourished- it’s next to impossible for them to eat enough food on a daily basis to provide the nutrition they would get from animal protein - in particular haem iron which is a necessary mineral, it’s used to make red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body and it also contributes to normal cognitive function and you can ONLY get it from animal protein. Long term vegans and vegetarians are constantly tired and because they are deprived of haem iron they really don’t have as good cognitive function as people who eat adequate amounts of protein. It’s impossible to get through to vegans and vegetarians about how important animal protein is because they are soooo irrational and refuse to even contemplate that they are malnourished because they can’t remember what it’s like to feel good and healthy… I wouldn’t waste my breath trying to convince them of anything. There is soooo much precious land and water being depleted and wasted to grow grains, vegetables and fruits than there is being used for grazing animals - it’s the vegans destroying the planet not the carnivores…. I’m very sad to say that it’s very political (and I’m very apolitical) and it’s all about the money…

Omni-carnivore is the same what i would say i am... and i sometimes eat ever other day or once every three days.. im not even hungry ... and still i have 220 pounds (mostly muscles) 6,4" tall and just want to burn off my last few fat pounds on the belly... SUGAR AND CARBS ARE WORSE THAN COCAINE AND HEROINE TOGETHER! ... you can eat them... but be awar that they're not healthy...

I don't like eating animals for that reason, but have to remember it's a part of life. Even animals eat animals and we've eaten animals for hundreds, if not millions, of years. I eat beef, mostly because it's good for you, and I like it. I also eat sardines for the same reason, but I thank them for their nutrition before eating them. However, I can't eat any animal I could think of as a pet, such as lambs. I've never eaten and will never be able to eat that. I don't eat rabbits or squirrels- there's a long list. A lot of people love lamb and thats their choice. I certainly don't judge anyone by what they do or don't eat. I'm a major animal lover and that's why it is hard for me, but I do eat beef as it's good for you. I'm certainly not going to eat animal meat made in a lab. I remember when they made packaged hamburger that they sold on a grocery store shelf. Apparently, most people were smart enough not to buy it as it didn't last long and, thankfully, disappeared. It does break my heart that so many small animals are killed on land for growing vegetables. One time a guy wrote that in plowing the land for companies, he hated getting to the end and seeing all the dead animals killed by his machine. I didn't even know that happened, so it was sad. They were just killed for no reason - they weren't eaten. They were just "in the way."

Dr. Ken Berry sent me from his channel and this is the first video I've watched. Dr. Cywes, hearing you speak of the egg blew my mind, cuz I look at them the same way. They're truly a magical vitamin powerhouse, simply because it's the base for creating another animal🐣 I dumbed down my diet and came up with a catchy anagram, S.O.M.E., Sunshine, Organs, Meat, Eggs...or, M.O.E.S., cuz word association helps me and it gives my mind a fun little game to play as I work. I've been fairly successful, but sugar addiction is quite a fickle Mistress. I'm 42, down 55lbs and 8" in 8 months 👍 I'd be farther along, but I'm human. I look forward to watching your videos and learning how to finally get over this addiction, once and for all. Thank you in advance!

I’d be careful adding all that fat. In the wild the animals we ate would have been lean and not enough organs or liver to be eaten on a daily basis same with eggs.

Thanks I needed this refresher. Been keto/low carb for 10 months & stalled at 40 lbs down. I dialed back the saturated fats & started snacking. Been a long time since I’ve had that leptin signal of satiety which makes fasting a breeze
@Ironclad66614 жыл бұрын
When that happens to me I dial back the amount of protein. For me if I eat too much it turns to sugar and then I lose the leptin signal. I stalled on Keto too around 30 pounds lost and I went with 6-8 oz portions of proteins, upped fat and went fasting 18 hours with 6 eating window and I was good again. I was not hungry and waking up not hungry and able to jump start my loss. Now I am down 55 pounds and down another 7.5 in the last month. Most people can't eat endless amounts of protein without it converting to some amount of sugar. That's not easy to do but for some it's very easy. You might dial back the protein and go back to more fat do less snacking and more fasting. See if that works.

But with certain people when I’m out I’ll get a cesaer salad without croutons with grilled chicken (and usually don’t eat all the salad) or at least throw a non starchy veggie on my plate. It keeps them happy to eat that and the restaurants I go to mostly are carb heavy so it’s the only thing that most restaurants have that I would even consider. ps. He spends almost half his time with his dad's family and they feed him so much rubbish, sweets, crisps and everything is processed, he asks for food and he gets it, ice lollies, cheap ramen noodles, processed freezer food like nuggets. He had a whole packet of mints the other day when I picked him up 'for the journey home' and they won't listen to me when I ask them not to. When he's at home the only 'real' food I get him to eat is beef,plain roast chicken and butter if it's on toast. Won't touch eggs, or cheese or anything fatty or creamy like real yoghurt. He asks for food constantly, and even gets shaky without his sugar fix it's awful, he gets really hyper too. Any good I do is undone when he goes to his dad/grandma's and I worry so much. As his mother i feel like I am failing him with his terrible diet. Any advice anyone?

Yes, as a parent I do, although you might not like it: Don't make food an issue with your son or his grandparents. You can model a healthy diet by what you eat and what you bring into the house, but that should be the extent of it, in my opinion. We can only control so much as parents, and sometimes our desire to control causes unintended and harmful consequences. Our two children are now grown, and one has been a vegan several times. I keep my mouth shut and we respect each other's food choices. I do find it interesting though that my daughter keeps going back to vegetarianism. She clearly needs the fat! Good luck with your son. Meals shouldn't be a chore, but rather a pleasure. And you want peace with his clueless grandparents.

@@TerriblePerfection Thanks for your reply. Since posted my comment I've started to realise that for myself, I need to relax a bit , I do my best. And he's a very healthy, active and happy boy. And as you say it's the feeling of not having control that makes me feel anxious and it feels alot better to just let go a bit. Thank again x

I'm becoming a diabetic so I hear eating animals is a no no! So what should I do?? I don't like eating animals. Also Asians eat noodles & rice & they didn't get fat or diabetes. So please explain this Dr. Cywes??

@@michelesteward5170 I know Ken Berry. None of them really have the answers the only person that seems to have any answers that might be interesting for the future is dr. David Sinclair and he's talking about reversing aging and keeping you young longer like getting your NAD back on here by taking nmn

The Asians on a high noodle or rice diet do not eat the same way we do. They do not eat till full - their tradition is to stop at 80%. They do not snack on carbs all day long. They do not eat processed foods . They have extended fasting time everyday. As soon as Asians adopt a western lifestyle and diet, they gain weight.

what do you think of freeze dried organ meats in capsule form? (Assuming you can't stand organ meat). Better than nothing?

I'm never giving up my cuppa tea with a splash of regular garden variety shop bought milk. You can prise it from my cold dead hands.

Love your sensible advice. One of the hardest parts of eating out is dealing with the “sides” that you pay for even if you don’t want. Understanding that vegetables once in a while are not going to throw me for a loop is a huge relief. (I can be a bit anal about diet sometimes.)

I ask for burgers without the bun, and for steak I ask the server to skip the veggies. In one restaurant, there was an option for a women's steak or a men's steak. Aside from the sexism, even the men's was barely enough! We carnivores can pack it away!
