@derrickallen192618 күн бұрын
Fireplace Installer and Tech here! I have seen this happen on old HeatNGlo units before. It's such an awful feeling because I had just fully serviced the unit and it was running well. But this happens when there are micro cracks in the glass or it wasnt tempered correctly. So that might have happened in shipping In your case. If it happens more often to you I would recommend getting a snorkel cap. When the vent has no bends and just goes straight out it allows the wind and pressure differences to put stress on the glass and it will eventually cause it to develop micro cracks and then it will shatter. Good luck!

Let me start by saying I'm so grateful you guy know how to do drywall. When Life Uncontained did drywall, it took FOREVER!!! I love those guys, but they were killing me. So this was refreshing. Like I know the same thing is coming up with Tyler and Todd, and I'm stressing over it. Like none of these projects are mine and I'm so stressed for everyone lol.

I followed another DIYer a few years back: the couple was redoing an early 1900's Kentucky farmhouse. The original fireplace in the dining room also featured an enclosed side cubby with shallow shelves. A perfect place to store vases, candles, etc. When you were framing up the fireplace, I couldn't help but think you might have hidden storage if planned out carefully....especially over/behind the mantle!!!!! Y'all do a great job entertaining us and getting the job done! Blessings!
