I was Fortune's senior at Founders High School, in Bulawayo and he's the real deal, humble, likeable and full of life, even at that time. Played rugby together by the way! So proud of what he has become and achieved. We also share a live for reggae from those heady days!

Hey Guys I’m a huge subscribed fan!!! Great guest! Chibaba Chasi so likeable and engaging. It was great to have him on the show. I wish you had gone through his civil service history chronologically and extracted what each moment was and the dynamics he faced and how each scenario developed to the next until where we got to where we are at including the continuing relationship with the ruling organization and the dynamics associated with that. Your questions like why are things like this now at Zesa or in transport are just questions we know he can never answer coz he is out of civil service at this stage and out of professionalism in relating with his colleagues. Nice one all the same. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I love this interview and this guy is very knowledgeable bout a lot of things. However I would like to make a small correction when he said " a lithium battery is a bomb " . It depends on the lithium chemistry. There are lithium ion (cellphone ,laptop batteries) and then lithium iron phosphate ( LiFePO4) which are very safe . EVs are the future and countries like Zim should jump on it to reduce the burden of oil imports . Install solar panels hence reducing reliance on ZESA or electricity imports. Of course countries which produce oil will not jump on the EV bandwagon coz oil is their bread and butter e.g USA , Russia or OPEC members

Va Chasi had a very friendly interview and largely got away scot-free, without any real grilling over happenings at ZESA. It would have been very interesting as to how Sydney Gata was re-appointed to ZESA given his ruinous history there. Most of the engineering fraternity were shocked at the re-appointment of Sydney Gata to ZESA. That man is the very reason why ZESA is failing to deliver enough power to all households/industry consistently. Sydney Gata has an impressive resume, not to mention his doctorate. I suppose whoever re-appointed him must have been hoodwinked by his resume. That being said, he handled ZESA like his personal tuck shop or at best like some cute experiment of his, with very disastrous results. He was fired from ZESA 3x and he is just not fit to lead ZESA. The problem maZimba have is this primitive awe at educational degrees. Dr Gata should have been left to continue farming or to seek lectureship at some college. Any experienced decent Electrical Technician could do much better than Sydney. Engineer Simbarashe Mangwengwende who Gata hounded out of ZESA forewarned about electricity shortages kunana (1990 - 2006) and was forced out of ZESA for that. Instead Sydney was more interested in promoting Rural Electrification to aid his in-laws’ ZANU-PFs campaign instead of striking a balance between generation extension, distribution and rural electrification. ☹
@LenoxMhlanga2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps they should invite Dr Sydney Gata, how about that? We could be in for some surprises on that narrative!
