I just listened to Preston's book on audio books (so I'm sure that's why this is in my recommended; not complaining!) and LET ME TELL YOU! y'all need to read it or listen to it! it's very practical, it gives the contexts that we could witness in (i.e. family that know you & your past / flaws, strangers), ways to start conversations about God, the heart in which we witness, what NOT to do... it's all there. I especially love the part about being okay with watering. We don't always see the full result of our witness, but it's a seed planted. Check out his book, "How to win hearts and not arguments". It's FIRE. God really did His big one with giving us (the Body of Christ) a Preston Perry.

Also the Bible says that God is a just God. God would not be just in sending mentally delayed individuals to hell just because they don’t maneuver & respond the way we do. There are seeds sown in them just like us. His mercies renew every day and he is a good God!! Dope pod ❤

I'm currently praying and searching for that as well. At my current church which I've attending for years alot has happened. My pastor recently filed for divorce without explanation. Just a few Sundays ago has wrongfully used Acts as a warning to the people for those who he heard has gossiped about him. Literally said he's trying to scare the people. Which the text he used was speaking about the man and wife for lying to the Holy Spirit about the money they kept and died because of it. Smh That was the final straw for me. I feel uncomfortable in going.

The part about Preston and John going at it to prove whether Jesus is God or not remind me of Nabeel Quereshi and David Wood. Nabeel, a devout Muslim lived to devour Christians intentionally seeking to prove we don't worship God. 1:06:43 ya’ll done messed around and got me crying. My 5 year old is autistic and delayed. But I see glimmers of hope in him that confirm my hope. He struggles to speak but I can see him looking and trying. He sings some worship songs that he enjoys. He welcomes the nightly prayers and Bible stories. I have hope, but most importantly I look for every little win and am grateful when they come. And I’ve learned to praise and worship even when he’s having his meltdowns. He’s taught me to trust that God will make a way when I don’t even see one because he is a good Father and an awesome God. Thank you for sharing your experience because it builds the community of parents that have children with special needs. ❤

Can we get the book recommendation list you all discussed? As someone who also was raised in the church, things have changed so much. I can say, if you go to a church and you are not convicted to change your life, you probably shouldn't be there. Meaning, you should be uncomfortable living in sin when you go there, the word of God is powerful and when it's taught properly, it convicts your heart and you have to change.

Love it here!!! Praise God! Also, the Bible says that we are to receive His discipline as one of the many forms of His love. So God being mad at you (and whatever else that may entail) much like how our earthly/natural fathers discipline us in times of need is His love showing up in the form of Mercy. In regard to evil: we also have to remember that God did destroy all of humanity at one point in time, but then he also promised to never do that again (the rainbow). In regard to Caleb: God also gives us the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us. Who prays the things we know not even to pray. So I’d be willing to also believe Caleb experiences the same thing.
