Preston operates in a number of roles: husband, father, evangelist, apologist, poet... and now, he's added "author" to the list. The Perrys discuss the spiritual opposition he experienced writing his first book and why they believe the enemy didn’t want this book to reach the world.
How to Tell the Truth isn't a book that teaches you how to evangelize "like Preston." It's a book that robs every believer of the excuses that keep them from sharing the Gospel. Here's the good news: you don't need seminary training to tell the world about Jesus.
How to Tell the Truth: The Story of How God Saved Me to Win Hearts, Not Just Arguments releases on May 21, 2024. Pre-order here: preston-perry....

20:00 "The moment you tell someone you are a Christian, you are an evangelist. The moment they start asking questions, you become an apologist. The moment they become a follower, you become a disciple maker." Preston Perry (This is revolutionary yet fundamental. I've spent my whole life missing this point of fruitfulness and faithfulness.)

This is absolutely profound, and I had not known the language to describe these things. Lately I've been very interested in Apologetics, as a way to gain a deeper knowledge of why I believe what I believe about Christ. I am so appreciative about the level of transparency in this Podcast, and it is really educating me about how I can use my gift of communication to lead people to Christ.

yes I am not equipped yet to talk to those who are lost. I've run from people who are not believers of Christ and absolutely do not know what to say to them as of now. Then I am on guard towards them, etc. This really helps. thank you both.

Very insightful! And the truth can also be said with so much grace and truth but still not received, it is now where the Holy Spirit does His work in their hearts. Because even Jesus truth was rejected and He communicated with so much love and Grace. Well-done people❤. I learned a lot on this channel.

I absolutely need this book. TYSM for writing it. ❤ I admit I was a Jonah, “Don’t believe in God if you want to; You’ll soon find out.”…until I had kids. I recommend everyone get this book. There will come a time where you will wish you had prepared the words to say and regret is the worst. Post Script 😀: I just saw this book is releasing May 21st and the daughter I am having trouble explaining things to, and is the biggest reason for me wanting this book, May 21st is her birthday. 🥹 If that’s not a sign from God.❤

This is so helpful. I was given the opportunity to preach the gospel to someone and pray for her. However, I felt like I failed. The reason why I feel this way is because I was so excited to share the gospel that I wasn't fully listening. It kind of sucks because what do I say to God '' Help me calm down my excitement for you when someone is talking''?

The gospel of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. Prophecy comes as a by product of speaking about Jesus, the whole message centers around Him as His Word does. God is Spirit so anyone who worships Him does so in spirit & in truth. Without the Holy Spirit, I wouldn’t know how to worship God & be a pleasing aroma. We need to allow the Holy Spirit access to our hearts in the moments where we “stand trial” before those who we give the gospel to. I remember asking God how I’ll be able to show my loved ones the truth of the gospel & His response was simple. How did I find His kingdom? I was loved in by receiving salvation through deliverance, key word being love. He said I can only love them into His kingdom & that’s when He started to deal with me on how to love others by understanding how I didn’t know how to love myself until I came to Christ. I love me through Christ so I can understand how to love them through Him too.

Not being able to properly minister to my family is the hardest thing. Because majority of my family have not really read the Bible just they believe in God and pray but no real understanding of God's word. Then when I try to minister to them I tend to feel like a failure people outside of my family reach out thanking me for my faith because it inspired them my own flesh blood just makes excuses for my cousins to give me the cold shoulder "Oh, well they probably think you were going to judge them." I haven't said anything to one my cousins since 2014 when I gifted her book on purity for her 16th birthday and my grandma told my mom they said I was "Forcing my faith on them." I can't even tell a family member’s yes prayer is important but you need to read more than Jesus is calling books but the actual Bible without them getting mad and calling me judgmental out of context. Ministering to your family is the hardest thing especially ones that claim to be Christian already.

I have always wondered about deliverance. From what I understand and have been told, a person is set free from any evil spirits when they become a Christian. I'm not sure what is biblical.
@Mainni12
@Mainni12 5 ай бұрын
@@RoseyPosey545 I think when you have the holy spirit you cannot be possessed by demons, so there's no way it's living inside of you and using you as a host. But that doesn't mean that your relationships, finances etc. could be set free. So a demon might still have power over those areas. Also if a person opens a door for the enemy by sinning then the enemy can have access to a person but still the person won't be possessed because they have the holy spirit living in them. Not sure if it makes sense tho.
@lightofminestorytime
@lightofminestorytime 3 ай бұрын
@@RoseyPosey545 it is biblical that believers can be oppressed or demonized however, they are not possessed by demons. I believe that non believers can be possessed however. One quick example is that Peter was an absolute follower of Christ And Jesus still told him “Get behind me, Satan !” Or when Jesus casted demons out of the man in the synagogue (church) . Believers knowingly and unknowingly give Satan footholds to their life by their sin. All sin big or little is a portal for demonic activity to attach itself to their life and vessel .

But don't let the term force it down their throat stop you. My Dad wasn't a Christian, and he'd say that often even when my Mom was saying nothing about the Lord. He was just under conviction. It caused me to grow up and virtually never witness cuz I knew nobody wanted the Gospel "shoved down their throat. " Want it or not, they need it. That lie of the enemy effectively muzzled me. Should you back off if they flip out, want to argue , or otherwise shut down the conversation, sure.

I feel as though many evangelists hear something they don’t like and then the conversation becomes a debate, defensive of the Lord and his Word but it’s not always necessary to be defensive. It’s not always about a quick response or quid pro quo. The people who are open enough to share their life with you are pieces of gold waiting to be dusted off and given to the Lord. We just need to understand that we are not Jesus but rather representatives of His organization and every org. needs professionalism. We may not win every battle but our professionalism will win the WAR.

I just want to share this to whoever may see this. I have been following Jackie Hill Perry for only a couple month and her content is what I've been consuming the most. Especially With the Perry's. For this month in particular, ever trial and testing I've been going through. Any little worry I have, God has been supernaturally putting me in contact with their content that relates to it. Me and my boyfriend been having frequent arguments and then I saw their collab on Conflict. Hit me like a ton of bricks, the deeper meaning of dying to self. Today was another blow. Because I have been hardcore talking in my heart with God about reaching my close girlfriend about her faith. I've been scared. Scared that she will run when I have her so close. Then I see this the very next day. The way God is speaking to me through these videos makes me want to cry. Its really touching for me and I am glad that they are still In Tune God fearing people out there that could touch a young girl from the small island of Antigua 🇦🇬.

Don't knock Ray Comfort though. He's a faithful witness. Everyone will have their own approach or style, if we're even trying at all. I heard a testimony of a girl in college who knocked on dorm room doors with her campus ministry. She was terrified but asked the girl if she could give her a survey. She did it. Then she asked if she could READ her the Four Spiritual Laws. She said, "Yes." She read it. Then she asked if she would like to pray and receive Christ, and she said, "Yes." The Christian girl was stunned. It really is the work of the Spirit, not saying just the right words or having the correct technique. Ray Comfort, I think, bases his approach on Galatians 3:24 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Most people think they are good people. They don't know they're sinners, so you have to give them the bad news before you can give them the Good News.

Evangelist is an office. The Five-Fold (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher) are all offices. You can also have a gift in relation to one or multiple of them and you can have the spirit of one or multiple of them.

Man this is so enlightening and convicting yall I'm so tired of being a coward and the fact that I know cowards don't inherit the kingdom of Heaven makes it even worse. I need the Lord to bless me with my own style to serve Him right in Jesus name

Hello Perry’s, what a blessing you both are to your audience. As you rise in your ministry and gain more adoration and recognition. I pray you each remain humble, obedient and not lose sight of God and his word. I pray your marriage remain strong in spite of the enemy’s attacks that will come, I pray your children be blessed in all things, and grow in wisdom and love. Thank you for sharing the good news!

Preston you’re a great teacher! Glory to God ❤️ This is so affirming, truthful and loving. A child could get what you’ve said and begin applying. Your family is blessed to have you.

I love them! But I just want to say one thing about the Black people and sunscreen lol… 😅 Yes, the sun can affect our skin harshly.however, our melanin does give us a little bit more protection than our lighter complected friends. Furthermore, it’s really important to remember that the sun is the best source of creating vitamin D in our bodies. Most Black people in this country are vitamin D deficient because the same rays that have a hard time penetrating our skin and causing damage are also the ones that have a hard time creating vitamin D in our systems because of our melanin. Long story short, go outside, get your vitamin D, then lather yourself in all the sunscreen you need if you’re going to remain outdoors for long lengths of time. 🙏🏽

18 mins. Discipleship. at some point you have accept that having this youtube channel and treating it as a platform to share your ideas, experiences and the word, creates disciples. Even if you don't want to create more of you. Keep in mind that those allowing themselves to be discipled by you, will be like you. There's nothing wrong with that. We are spiritual babies who grow and mature enough to disciple someone else. Our disciples will do things the way that we do. In the same way that children have things in common with their parents. Don't apologize for this. Be intentional about it.

I so needed this breakdown. Now, Jackie, can you both speak on how being an INTROVERT is ok but how to differentiate between being an introvert and just being shut off to people and building relationships within the body of Christ

I will be purchasing Preston’s book. I have a cousin that told me recently that I planted a seed in him 30 yrs ago and he’s just now fully understanding what it is to follow Christ. At the time I wasn’t near the Christian I am today but that seed God used and brought him to Jesus. At the time he had all kinds of issues and today he has repented and I can truly see Christ working in his heart. So I will say this, being heartless to anyone’s situation isn’t Jesus. Although Jesus did tell ppl to go and sin no more, He was never hurtful to anyone other than the Pharisees (but we know why, they pretended to love God but inside their heart God wasn’t really there but there was pride and greed). I appreciate you both so much taking time out to do these videos, write spirit filled books and just standing for Christ in a world where ppl need Him most. I witness to a lot and ppl I know, but I too would love to witness to strangers. So hopefully Preston’s book will help me get there. May God continue to cover, protect and bless your family.

Another good Perry’s podcast. 🙌🏻 I stuck around for the whole thing. 😂 Honestly, great points for me to continue to work on. 😇 Also just realized the graphic on Jackie’s sweatshirt! That’s a throw back! Can’t believe that’s still around, as I remember gifting my hs buddy that as he went off to college. Guess the year. *Hint Jackie wasn’t born yet.
