Learning at the same pace as you. A wee tip for you there is a wooden crate at the end of the isle in the shop you can buy. You can then pile things into the crate to and Chuck in the the back of the pick up. Save so many journeys with single items.

I have found myself on tier 3 digging like mad with the big excavator. I run heavy equipment and had to switch the controls in the menu to SAE. Which is the actual excavator controls. My advice is try playing with the initial setup of controls to find your preference MrSealyP. Love this series so far.

Loving the series! Game becomes much easier when you can buy supplies from the tablet. It pays to extra hoses and power cables around. Seems you never have as many as you need when your shopping.

You didn’t mean to, but you just accidentally helped me figure out a way to excavate that first claim more efficiently (for me). The unevenness and hodgepodge approach I’ve been seeing most people’s play through has been driving me up a wall. You turned the main wash area to your side and it hit me: I can excavate, moving backwards, in strips from top to bottom of the claim, moving farther away from the “shore” where you currently are with each strip. Brilliant.

All I could think of coming into this episode is your “love” of forestry grapples in FS19 and wondering how the excavator was going to go. Also, I found through trial and error that you can adjust the bucket camera angle as well while in driving mode. It helped for seeing where I was over the wash plant.and the wave table was my favorite upgrade. I was yelling to the screen when you looked right at it and passed it over!

to adjust the camera on the first bucket view switch to drive mode and adjust the camera then switch back and it should keep the camera setting from the drive mode.

The wave table will pan for gold for you and it will automatically add to your gold , all you have to do is dump the pay dirt in

It's so funny to watch you MrSealyP as I'm a FireEngineerOfficer. "How do I connect a pump? OK, I use suction hose over the hill!" Can't it be wet if I place the rig in bottom of a pit? And what can I do with this water later? Any question then look up how a centrifugal pump works and maybe some gold excavation videos. ;D *But it's still a game!

MrSealyp, I too thought the nuggets were until you reached a stage.. but after a drought with the small excavator they are back.. I think it’s to do with the concentration of gold in the ground.. I may just rent the drill to test the ground some..oh regarding the excavator.. controls are good and take some getting used to. I can do it with my eyes closed now, near enough.. perhaps as a story line.. spectacle island company.. for when you need the weekly fix..

MrSealyp you are much neater than me.. I have to - like the show, run well walk to the generator etc halfway to the creek- water source, to switch off. A tip, don’t dig yourself into a corner.. as I did with regard to wanting to move the wash plant.. had to gently push it with the excavator arm into a spot I could connect it to the pickup.. With regard to the camera angle, isn’t the controller a set of keys itself, in some games tilting the controller gives movement.. so tilting the controller this way or that way could change the view a little? I wonder could it be put into the game.. looking from above at both the excavator and wash plant helps.. a bit

You gotta watch gold rush on the Discovery Channel. It will help you see all the different machines. The wave table separates the sand from the gold. Like you do when panning. Keep up the great vids

On the claim...Look for the dumpster with a cash register next to it... That is where you sell unwanted stuff

At 8:12 there is a green building to your left. Just before the building is a marked area. Place old equipment in the area and over to the left side of the area is a cash register. You can sell the equipment there. You can't sell it anywhere else.

Well, at least we made it all the way to Episode 3 before the hilarious and accidental "look at my hole" comment cropped up! :D But in all seriousness, I'm really enjoying seeing this game! It's been vaguely waving at the edge of my radar for a while now so it's good to see someone playing it! There's a lot I see that I really like the look of, some very nice mechanics and gameplay aspects that are definitely a big draw. Considering it's such a new console release (and barely a 4 year old PC release) it does seem to have it's share of rough edges and janky bits to it like some of the general movement, carrying of things and objects loading in / out, possibly related to it being a PC to console port that maybe didn't go the greatest but for the most part they don't seem that much worse than the quirks we get with Farm Sim. Keen to see how this progresses, especially with the diggers and the massive Tonka trucks! Nice one mate!

When you collect the story newspapers you will get a percentage discount on items. Not much savings per story collection but if you collect enough I guess it helps a little bit. I’m having issues placing equipment and hoses and such so it seems to take a while to place something in the right spot for equipment to work. I’m enjoying this game but it’s a bit annoying because tutorial is a bit vague

The wave table was there when you started the set up. I guess you didn’t see it at that point. I think I gotta go back and change the auto save time or turn it off because the loading game icon keeps coming on since I set it for each our and as day advances per hour the load icon keeps coming on and is a bit annoying. I am enjoying this game tho

I'm playing it on Xbox i found out if you leave the camera in free look on driving mode and if you need to change your camera in operator switch to driving mode to move the camera and then back to operator mode it is a more simpler way instead of switching between camera's

you can upgrade the blacksmith so you won't loose as much gold in the smelting process and you can also upgrade the time taken to smelt it

Making notes to write in comments, Sell point is on the right as you drive into you claim, looks like a skip with clear area and till on a desk. small excavator was less as the game has random sale's. Equipment is cheaper to buy in winter but that's a whole other story. The Used slots in the store is how many items you can buy at a time. And now starts the many trips to the store to get what you forget or find that you need when setting up. i've played many hrs on PC and each save started differently as learnt how not to do it first time. On Camera i use one of the bucket angles but zoomed out, which might not be good for video's but worked of me once i got everything setup.

Three shovels fill a bucket and three buckets fill the hog pan, then turn water pump on you don’t use as much fuel but you move to big Machinery now so doesn’t matter lol

The reason you stopped getting gold nuggets is the game is trying to nudge you towards the next tier. Once you set up with your excavator and wash station in the big boy field, you will start getting nuggets again. Enjoy your vids.

On normal mode u can have gold stolen too while using caravan to advance time. Happened to me so now I just dont sleep and smelt and sell all my gold every 2 days incase I want to advance time
