EP 3: How to Earn More Money

To earn more money, knowing the game, and putting in the hard work are definitely big players. Unfortunately, in many industries, men are up ahead compared to women when it comes to pay. Women of color especially earn 37 cents less for the simple reason of race and gender.
Which is why I encourage every woman to participate in her own rescue and talk about 3 ways to earn more money. Let’s not wait for industries and people to adapt and change ways. That can take years and the solutions I share with you are ones you can start implementing today. Here are some reasons you’re not earning more:
1. You’re waiting for someone else’s permission. (Validation, recognition)
2. You’re watching other people way too closely. (Inspiration is fine. Imitation is not flattering.)
3. You’re wasting your gifts in the wrong place. (community, industry or ministry)
I hear from women all the time “I'm really struggling to figure out what my gift is. For most people, your gift is right under your nose because you’ve been doing it day in and day out. It's probably something you have done so much that you've taken for granted.
You probably know what your gift is but you’re using it in the wrong industry, ministry, community. Where people don’t appreciate, acknowledge, and willing to pay you.
Shift where you're spending your time, who you’re spending it with, and what you’re offering to people. Take that gift and figure out the best use for it.

That's such truth Patrice , about giving yourself permission. And though I can write that to myself several times over, I really am not sure how giving the permission to self is done. But yes, I must give myself so many permissions - is the realisation you brought to fore.

I am guilty looking for recognition from others and I failed to look within myself for it. Once I've done a good deed I go the extra mile to extend that deed to put myself and family in tough spot. I was a people pleasure and often or always putting other needs before my own. I've sacrificed my finances which lead me to this position I'm digging my self from. I'm learning to change that.

Patrice, thanks for the confirmation! I am in the Beginning stage of my Professional/Entrepreneurial Development and receiving many rejections from my workplace. I would like to know where to market and to have the courage to step out on faith to find my own audience or support group. I still need help with niche and elevator pitch and so forth. Learn as much as you can Pam. Soak up everything you need to know about your field. Also, learn from the rejections, but don't be discouraged because each "No" gets you one step closer to a "Yes"
