I nicknamed the sub enclosure I built for my bedroom “The Mrs. Downfire” I’d have to look for my specs for the cuft number, but it’s two 18’s mounted isobaric. Replaced my Tempur Pedic foundation with pure Robin Williams BASS! lol

I started building DIY subs because there was no local subs available except a shitty Klipsch one and getting subs shipped from USA would cost at least $220.

do you have any box designs for the um18 by chance? if so lmk i'll give you a couple bucks np. i bought a rsl 12s and im telling you now. not only was the experience bad but so was the sub. the impact it had was horrible. i decided to build my own. i was going to build your hammer but i ran across a deal local on 2 used um18's. they are in a 5.3 cu ft ported box now but im thinking thats not enough. i want it to go low but i dont want to sacrifice impact anywhere if thats even possible. if i have to get ahold of you to help me design something specific np just lmk how and how much etc. after my pre built sub experience im going diy from now on period.

DIY! its so satisfying when youve finished your own sub(not girlfriend since the day was 23.12:)I buildt my first sub, 12", 101liters JBL driver, 240w int amp. It sounds great, what an upgrade from my 10" 35ish liters.But I now have two svs pc 2000, since I got both of them new for about 800usd, you cant build them that cheap I think..

"Placing a subwoofer under the seat or under the bed." Who thought of that?
@JadeB628 Жыл бұрын
There is no question whatsoever that DIY subs are better than the most expensive sub you can find on Amazon which is like $2900. and it's got horrible reviews. I started with a Pro amp and I bought the Crown XSL1002. just to see if I can actually build a decent sub. (I definitely made mistakes along the way) buying the wrong subs. not converting consumer audio to pro audio. took me six months and I finally got it right. but these mistakes paid off in the end. I will never buy another brand ready-made sub regardless of the company.
