When we teachers leave the profession... There's a sense of abandonment. We are taught that teaching is a calling, we are to build relationships with the kids as if they are our own, we spend hours wondering how to meet their needs. You want to help a teacher leave? Allow them the time to process the idea that they have not let the children down by leaving. Help them to minimise the guilt.
@richardgarrett9821
@richardgarrett9821 Жыл бұрын
In our culture, teachers are leaving the profession because the fundamental ethics around what a school is there for is no longer correct. Here we have an independent body that rates the effectiveness of a school. You can go from a top tier school to one threatened with closure if a clerical, administrative task is not undertaken (eg an incorrect date stamp on a file). This doesn’t help us create excellence amongst our learners. Separately to that, we often take a student that’s exceptional at something, for example writing, like they’re clearly phenomenal at it. It is their gift. Instead of further nurturing that, the learner is punished for being a D grade student for Chemistry. The world needs more exceptional writers and waaaay fewer people who are terrible and disinterested at Chemistry. Our schools continue to work towards creating generic jack of all trades type learners, obedient workers that know what to think and not how to think. No wonder people don’t want to be teachers anymore.

The topic of Egyptians and the Pyramids just had me rolling!!! ROLLING!!! Has there ever been a more sad microscope to the attachment of possessions as the Egyptians---who didn't just bury their "stuff" when they died. Those tombs included everything they thought they needed to drag with them in the percieved after-life.😳😵‍💫🤯

Love how at 8:00 Josh says he's not "really sure and so we'll have a conversation about that". He's referring to a specific topic, but what I appreciate is the way he models how to straightforwardly communicate that he needs more info to understand something before he can form his opinion about it.

Aw, this reminds me of my sister. She had a hoarding problem with stuff like there are so may things she ordered online that she hasn't even open weeks/months since they were delivered to our home. We have close to 15 mega box storage full of stuff that she hasn't open or used in years but is struggling to let go. That behavior also bleeds into hoarding pets. She kept adopting dogs even though our home is really small. Dogs are lovely and we have come to love those furbabies but we were definitely overwhelmed with having to take care of 7 dogs and I personally had to spend a lot of money to get them spayed and nuetered because our male dogs kept fighting when it's mating season and we also don't want to breed more puppies and have our female dogs pregnant every other 6 months.

uhm, I heard somewhere, a long long time ago, that men (who think differently to women) tend to want to "solve" the problem, whereas the women in their lives (i.e. the teacher, in this case) might just want her husband to listen to her and be a sounding-board for her as she contemplates her decisions. Thanks TK for the advice given to her husband .. hope he gets the message

I think this is valid. Also, I can imagine how overwhelmed with life the Teacher is right now, about to give birth! She is living in two worlds! Her whole mind, body and soul are going through an experience. Pregnancy and birth are a job in itself. Perhaps, the Husband is overly anxious at how their lives are changing and worried about the future? I can imagine the Teacher is massively overwhelmed at this time, and her priority is birthing their baby.

And then I apply what I learn after I finished the task or chore. And one thing I have to say is that you guys have changed my outlook in life. Enriched it is the better term. I constantly am "yapping" about your teachings to everyone who wants to listen. And after every conversation without fail? They always ask me: “how do you know all these? The teacher question seems to be missing the point. His wife is about to give birth to their first child. That is a huge change and so most of her attention is directed there. After the child is born and things settle, he may find that she is more ready to move forward with the next big change.

There is a whole group of us that find it easier to stay at a job we don't like, then go to an interview & meet all these new people, new expectations, etc. I think we are the 1/3 stabilizing factor for a company, regardlessof low pay. .. I find that i have had to focus on my goals, using my job as the tool to get there, until i was ready to move on to something better. I would eventually come to love my jobs, even though the pay was so little. Usually, what happens is something incredibly better shows up to make that move to leave, or 'urgency' makes that decision.

Im on disability n dont have need for very dressy clothing ( other than something simple but nice for church" someone like a member of the English Royal Family, their lifestyle requires them to have lots of fancy clothing n jewelry. Tire Rubber: I work in County Government and the old tires are taken to a local department once per year for Tire Amnesty Day and they are sent to the state to be recycled into crumb rubber for playgrounds, rubber in place, rubber mulch, and rubberized asphalt coating. This way they do not clutter your home or fill our landfill.

I have a dog and two cats. The dog doesn't want to go potty outside, so I put down a puppy pad. She uses it for the most part. Daily I clean up the mess. It aggravates me that she isn't trained. She gets enough walks. She goes out after she eats. I take her out again 1 minute later. She waits to go on my floor or the potty pad. Any suggestions? You mentioned dog waste, so I asked. My house is clean and decluttered for the most part. The dog is my only concern.

I adopted a dog that was not potty trained. I kept taking her out and praising her when she went potty outside. After 1 and 1/2 years it has really paid off. Yesterday we were in a store with her, and she started pulling toward the door. Turns out she had to go, bad. So be patient and hang in there and don't yell and belittle her. Hopefully she will get it. But having a pee pad down is not so bad.
@kariw788
@kariw788 Жыл бұрын
Put the puppy pad close to the door. Try leaving the dog tied to a short leash outside in one regular spot until.it.goes to the bathroom. When it should have to go. Shortly after eating and a walk. When inside always have tied on a short leash to you or in a crate. Maybe the dog thinks outside is for play and too distracted to go. Or put a diaper pad on it while inside? And take off outside?

I like the way TK explains things without sounding like a preacher. When they alluded to organ donation, does that mean we need to minimize our internal organs? 😆 Wealthy people who have consumerism are triggered by minimalism talk because it forces them to realize that many of them define themselves by the things they own. As if they wouldn't be the person they are, or be recognizable as that person, if they weren't carrying the Prada bag, etc. If all you are is a clothing rack, then that's all people can recognize about you. Not that those who wear haute couture are necessarily shallow people, but if how you look is that important to you, minimalism sort of flies in the face of that, and then cognitive dissonance sets in and causes discomfort.

The guy trying to help his wife..... he's trying to FIX the problem with what seems so obvious to him. Women don't work that way. We need to analyze it to death. Bitch, complain and cry about it. We just need to go through the whole process for some reason. My advice? Listen don't just hear her. LISTEN. then give some ideas and leave it alone! She'll pick it up when she's ready. Understanding, and empathy goes a long way especially when she's about to give birth.

Yes to Alex. Your wife needs a sounding board, thats it. Men are problem solvers and want to fix things, women tend to throw information out to the universe to see where it sticks. Women think out loud. When your wife is ready for a change, there will be no stopping her. Be on stand by Alex, that is all she needs from you right now.

Women don't see "help" the same as men. Women mostly want you to listen and say "there there" but men want to find solutions.
@MandySam13
@MandySam13 Жыл бұрын
That’s only true in some situations. Because some situations require “venting”, but not necessarily something you need to fix. But in this situation where her job is making her miserable but she wants to stay coz “it’s more familiar?” that does require a solution. But if she doesn’t want to do anything about it, then she needs to stop complaining. Or take her husbands advice and do something to move forward.
