I was 21,homeless and unemployed when I found out I had gotten a (legitimately sociopathic) 24, year old woman pregnant. Her mom pressured her to get an abortion, at five months (a viable life) I told her I would pay her to have the child and take full parental custody. She decided to keep it after that. I got a job and worked my ass off with no thanks and nothing but psychodrama from her. "Man up or life will crush you." Thanks Josiah. I've been through some serious shit involving that woman and being a father since then, I'll leave it at that. It's all worth it. Our daughter is fifteen, in Spain with her class for the summer and doing well. She's a higher caliber than most, maybe everyone, in either family and most people in general. Maybe she should be able to decide who among our family and the general population lives and dies? It's a person not a political issue. If you want to have a legal argument then the question is can another human life be owned? Who owns it? The father? The mother? The state? or the individual, the child? It's an individual rights issue.

I think it depends how late into the pregnancy it is. Early enough on its barley developed and isn't so much as self aware. Plus you can't tell someone what to do with their own body, a baby is a both physical and financial burden, or what if the girl was raped or super young or just not in a position to be able to support a child? Lots to consider.

The argument for abortion is “I don’t want a kid” even though sex is literally for reproduction. Whether you’re religious or not, thats just naturally what it is. If you aren’t willing to have a kid, don’t have sex. It’s all based off of “want”. Everyone wants to have sex, but the WANT to have sex should not outweigh the responsibility of taking care of a human life. Thats like saying, “Well officer, I’m drinking behind the wheel because I want to.
