@@Happ1971 dude I was a big fan. A big pricey for everything involved and looking back, I don’t know if the investment was my best choice… But as far as my satisfaction with what I got, yeah very satisfied with the sleeper, the generator, the ac, the air ride 5th wheel I had installed. The sleeper was very spacious and the under bed storage was a huge plus! hi Jason, why did you choose dodge ram? would you make video for ram vs chevy and Ford? which one's better than others and why? does Cummins hit 1,000,000 miles without repair? I heard chevy does (diesel trucks). thank you.
@DreamInspired5 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I didn’t go that far into research on my truck. I took a look at what I see more on the road and that made me look into Ram as my vehicle.
@Steven-gv1ke3 жыл бұрын
I was a GM technician for many years, and whoever told you the Chevy diesel goes a million miles without repairs is very full of it. You can expect to replace all the injectors every 200k to 250k, and it's expensive. You will also have to replace the front hubs every 200k as well which is also expensive. The Chevys are not built to do constant heavy duty work like a RAM or F350. The solid front axle design on the Ford and Ram are very much superior. From my other buddies who work on Rams and Ford's, they say the Cummins engine is a little better than the Ford 6.7L BUT, the rest of the truck has more issues than the Ford's. So if you get a Ford, you will likely have less problems overall. Also I worked in the oilfield, and we only ran Ford's out there and we beat the heck out of them and to be honest, did minimal maintenance besides oil changes. Remember this, the less options the truck has, the more reliable it will be. If you buy one fully loaded, it's just more electrical/electronics to have issues. Keep it simple and the reliability will be higher.

Not all options... Don’t have the TV, fridge or full air ride
@Mr.Beastforpresident5 жыл бұрын
Dream Inspired I wouldn't have got those options either. Air ride is nice but cost more and not as reliable as mechanical OEM suspension. The cost of a TV can be substituted for a big foldable, portable, versatile and storable laptop. A Fridge can be had for less than the one they offer which is more robust but also cost more, heavier and harder to move. A good quality ice chest can hold ice 5+ days, is cheaper, more portable and doesn't require generator and or battery power 24/7 and also provides a bigger table top if you get one big enough.
@DreamInspired5 жыл бұрын
Eh, I skipped on the tv and fridge because I already have those covered. Plus my tv is a smart tv and my truck has WiFi so that’s a win win lol. As for the suspension, if it were a 3500 I might agree but this beefed up 5500 suspension, with no weight on the rear, I feel every crack in the road.

I asked too quickly about the WB on your truck. I am a new subscriber and had not seen the video containing info on the build. Still great information and interesting. A lot of us used to run hot shots back in the day for oil field and they were nothing like the one you have. We used to think it was a lucky thing if you had a back seat to sleep in. Most didn't. Thanks for sharing the info.

Congrats on your new rig and i had asked on another post about your factory warranty still being valid after having that work done i'm only asking because im thinking of having the same set up done for myself.

From what I’ve been told, certain things will be voided but a modification like this doesn’t void the full warranty. I’ll have more info on that in the coming months.

AC on the roof : looks ugly , makes HUGE LOUD noise INSIDE . Instead you needed to split window AC conditioner . ( Sprinter AC install KZbin video for start )

@@DreamInspired I don't care much about look , but the noise will be horrible. You WILL rethink it , I've been there... Sorry for a negative comment Your truck and setup look just super NICE!

Weve slept in it quite a few times and honestly we havent had any issues. My daughter and gf both sleep just fine. I leave tomorrow for the first long haul so we’ll see how we feel in a few weeks

Just started looking into doing this past week and came across your videos and tow piglet. Your work ethic and desire for wanting to succeed being your own boss is inspiring. Thanks for the good content that you've shared with us all. Is this something that can be done part time and then make it full time? I currently do EMS but would like to hot shot a few days out of the week. My EMS work schedule allows me to work a few days a week then have the remainder of the week off. Now that you've been doing this for a little bit what potential gross/net could someone make only doing 3 to 4 days on the road per week?

How do you like the Berth? Seems like the obvious choice. I cringe when I think about cutting into a new truck body though.

Yeah I wasn’t the most comfortable when getting the back window and wall removed... But it all worked out! I love this thing!
