@@Happ1971 dude I was a big fan. A big pricey for everything involved and looking back, I don’t know if the investment was my best choice… But as far as my satisfaction with what I got, yeah very satisfied with the sleeper, the generator, the ac, the air ride 5th wheel I had installed. The sleeper was very spacious and the under bed storage was a huge plus! Don’t know what he’s doing them for today but another route which is probably a lot cheaper would be a coffin sleeper off a KW or Pete if you want to spend the time on a project for yourself to do.

hi Jason, why did you choose dodge ram? would you make video for ram vs chevy and Ford? which one's better than others and why? does Cummins hit 1,000,000 miles without repair? I heard chevy does (diesel trucks). thank you.
@DreamInspired
@DreamInspired 5 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I didn’t go that far into research on my truck. I took a look at what I see more on the road and that made me look into Ram as my vehicle.
@Steven-gv1ke
@Steven-gv1ke 3 жыл бұрын
I was a GM technician for many years, and whoever told you the Chevy diesel goes a million miles without repairs is very full of it. You can expect to replace all the injectors every 200k to 250k, and it's expensive. You will also have to replace the front hubs every 200k as well which is also expensive. The Chevys are not built to do constant heavy duty work like a RAM or F350. The solid front axle design on the Ford and Ram are very much superior. From my other buddies who work on Rams and Ford's, they say the Cummins engine is a little better than the Ford 6.7L BUT, the rest of the truck has more issues than the Ford's. So if you get a Ford, you will likely have less problems overall. Also I worked in the oilfield, and we only ran Ford's out there and we beat the heck out of them and to be honest, did minimal maintenance besides oil changes. Remember this, the less options the truck has, the more reliable it will be. If you buy one fully loaded, it's just more electrical/electronics to have issues. Keep it simple and the reliability will be higher.

Not all options... Don’t have the TV, fridge or full air ride
@Mr.Beastforpresident
@Mr.Beastforpresident 5 жыл бұрын
Dream Inspired I wouldn't have got those options either. Air ride is nice but cost more and not as reliable as mechanical OEM suspension. The cost of a TV can be substituted for a big foldable, portable, versatile and storable laptop. A Fridge can be had for less than the one they offer which is more robust but also cost more, heavier and harder to move. A good quality ice chest can hold ice 5+ days, is cheaper, more portable and doesn't require generator and or battery power 24/7 and also provides a bigger table top if you get one big enough.
@DreamInspired
@DreamInspired 5 жыл бұрын
Eh, I skipped on the tv and fridge because I already have those covered. Plus my tv is a smart tv and my truck has WiFi so that’s a win win lol. As for the suspension, if it were a 3500 I might agree but this beefed up 5500 suspension, with no weight on the rear, I feel every crack in the road.
@Mr.Beastforpresident

Dream Inspired How well is sleeper insulated? Spray foam or Dynamat adhesive type? Please do a more in depth detailed review of the completed truck. LED lighting, how Sleeper mounts to frame, how air hitch works with gauges etc, the custom frame work etc, custom drive shaft work
@DreamInspired
@DreamInspired 5 жыл бұрын
As far as the sleeper goes, I’m free to discuss an overview, but I’ve been asked not to go in depth on specifics. Building the sleeper isn’t my business but if it was, I wouldn’t want someone giving out all my schematics. Ya know. It’s spray insulated tho. Dynamat sound deadner is too heavy.

What's ur gear ratio? 2100 ish at 65 MPH? Seems high but if u run PA WV NY guess it will be great speed limits are a joke there anyway! That's a very good color you picked will hide most imperfections and will keep you cooler in the summer but 10 times better than plain white an black is terrible hot in the summer! Very classic color! I assume ur mounting the spare on the trailer? One question why gas fuel on the apu or generator? Why not everything diesel?

4.89 rear. Color, wish I was Navy Blue... The white colors get dirt far toooooooo fast and having to keep it clean daily because a huge hassle. Though I’ll agree, the pearl is a phenomenal color! Yes the spare will go on the trailer. Gas generator because 1, he already had 1 in the shop and we didn’t need to order it, 2, gas generator is much cheaper to buy than diesel. I was already spending enough to we cut prices where we could and went with the gas instead. So far it’s worked great!

As my fleet of Ram 4500's come up on Trade in time. I will not be replacing them. Seeing that Ram has Elected to discontinue the Use of Manual Transmissions. With my 4 2014 Rams are Approaching or Exceeding 600,000 miles. After being in the Hot Shot Business alongside my 18 Class 8 Fleet since 1985. It will be looking like a good time to begin Down size and close the doors in a few years.

Dream Inspired try and stay away from darker colors in your wrap, also pay attention to not only what brand of wrap but the lamination product they are using, think of it as the clearcoat on paint.

So you have the sleeper and carry just under 200 gallons of fuel? Let’s compare notes. I got 18-20mpg at 65-750mph without the sleeper. Maybe we should compare those notes instead since I’m doubtful that you have the same set up... 👀😳😏

I asked too quickly about the WB on your truck. I am a new subscriber and had not seen the video containing info on the build. Still great information and interesting. A lot of us used to run hot shots back in the day for oil field and they were nothing like the one you have. We used to think it was a lucky thing if you had a back seat to sleep in. Most didn't. Thanks for sharing the info.

From what I’ve been told, certain things will be voided but a modification like this doesn’t void the full warranty. I’ll have more info on that in the coming months.

Just started looking into doing this past week and came across your videos and tow piglet. Your work ethic and desire for wanting to succeed being your own boss is inspiring. Thanks for the good content that you've shared with us all. Is this something that can be done part time and then make it full time? I currently do EMS but would like to hot shot a few days out of the week. My EMS work schedule allows me to work a few days a week then have the remainder of the week off. Now that you've been doing this for a little bit what potential gross/net could someone make only doing 3 to 4 days on the road per week?
