Hi Tash! I've just come here to post a comment, I haven't watched the video yet because I'm watching all your podcast from the beginning and I don't want spoilers. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos. I've come across one of them about 2 months ago and I started watching from the beginning, I'm at no 46 right now. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this, I hope I'll catch up in a few months!

I thoroughly understood your description of the YO wanting to jump before the stitch! : ) And I also tend to leave my stitch markers in place, even when I've memorized the repeats. I have found it is an easy way to make sure I haven't gotten off track. Your Jupiter Crop is beautiful!

I now have the Baker hat and Skimmer socks in my project queue 😂 thank you for more ideas for leftovers or single skeins! Regarding your crochet basket I wanted to offer another tip for the stiffness of the fabric. I recommend yarn UNDER for your project instead of yarn OVER. Yarn under will deliver a tighter finish of your stitch without you having to tug and pull in the tension as much. You really want the fabric to have minimal gaps between stitches. Hoping your 6.5 mm hook helps as well 😊

Hi Tash, I love all of your projects and your sweaters are always amazing. I think that the project you are making as a basket could also be a great bag. I am not sure you can make that yarn, with those hook sizes, to turn stiff enough to be a basket even with the spray recommended. I have made many baskets and usually it will work better when you have a thicker yarn and you use a smaller then recommended hook for that yarn, so, the yarn you have might work, but you would need to use a much smaller hook ( I usually go down 2 sizes at least) even smaller than the 6.5 mm. I hope it helps and that you can make your beautiful basket. Great to see you again. ❤

Love those colours on you in the Jupiter crop and the simplicity of the Fjolla the detailing on the sleeves looks really good. That green for the idle wood is a beautiful colour and I agree the cowl doesn’t look horrible but it does seem a little over the top with short sleeves!😊

Great episode with so much inspiration and helpful information! Tash I think I've commented this before, but I'll say it again, I think we share a knitting "gene"! I made the Idlewood too back in 2011 and never wore it, not once. HAha! I ended up reclaiming the Eco Wool, which I love. I've often thought of making February Lady Sweater by Pamela Wynne with it or Nordic Trail by Elizabeth Smith with it. Hmm, maybe we should host an "old stash & old pattern" KAL. That could be fun! Have a wonderful week and happy car hunting and 17th Birthday to your son. Where does the time go?

Thanks so much Leanne. That is so funny that you also made an Idlewood you never wore. I think sometimes i make something before really thinking how and wear i will wear it and does it actually fit into my own aesthetic. I love the idea of and old stash or old pattern (or both )KAL. And i would love to host one with you. That sounds fun. x

I have just watched this podcast on my Tv. The previously knitted cardigan is great and looks good on you. The green top with cowl neck is top heavy so knit something else. The Bakers hat has turned so well and I you should knit more soon. The wips are coming along and I agree that the skimmers socks are better in self changing stripes. It is still heckticalky cold especially with the South Easter. Take care Tash ❤😊

You can always increase a few stitches as you go around the base of the basket with the smaller hook to keep it from puckering. Just put two stitches in the same stitch here and there. The green looks really good on you. I’d be tempted to remove the cowl part and wear it. Or lengthen the sleeves if you have more yarn. Take care!

I have found that having smaller (diameter) stitch markers when doing this helps. If they are too big, the stitches can also move around too easily. The smaller markers keep things neater on my needles.

Lovely projects! I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out. You have me thinking of making skimmer socks. When using magic loop for sleeves that have a motif in the middle, I split the stitches so the whole pattern down the middle plus some stitches on each side is on one needle, and the end of row is in the middle of stitches on the other needle.

I am dying to make Fjolla! I might have to move it up in my queue. I feel the same way about magic loop; it is cumbersome, but sometimes the best option, although, since I started working my sleeves on a short cable and my “shortie” needles, I’ve been much happier.
@mostlyknitting

I wish i could use shortie needles. They hurt my hands with the way i knit so they arent really an option for me...

I have a suggestion for your crochet basket ... Well a few suggestions lol You could wrap yarn around skinny dowel or even bamboo garden stick (maybe glue here n there) and space 5 equidistant around the basket & weave it through the stitches as you place it down to the base so it gives it some structure / form, etc ... Or you could horizontally weave through 1mm or even 2mm crafting wire used for armatures in needle felting ... At the base you could do the first 3 or rounds then can space out bigger ... ❤ Susannah in Perth, WA

That’s weird, we test drove an xtrail a couple weeks ago and the salesman was in the passenger seat. Maybe a company policy for Xtrail? We already have an old xtrail. Anyway, he wanted me to also test drive the new xtrail as well as my husband but I couldn’t as I was recovering from leg surgery - so definitely not cos you’re looking dodgy - it’s a company decision.

Hi Tash, thank you for your lovely podcast - I look forward to watching each episode every week. I am always inspired by your projects - I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I just wanted to point out before you finish knitting the whole sleeve on your Fjolla, I think your lace pattern is a bit off about 5 lace repeats from the bottom - I have watched twice and frozen the frame to double check and I think I'm correct even though I hope I'm wrong!

Thank you so much Tracy. What an eagle eye! If i had done the whole sleeve, i would not have gone back for sure. But i can deal with 30 rows. Not ideal but not horrible. Thanks for the heads up! :)

Hi Tash - I think that your green cowl top looks really good on you tbh, apart from the length which isn't in fashion any more as you say. Do you ever get these friends/'foes' out of your vault and like them again after you've put them on and talked through them? We had a young guy insist on coming with us when we tested a Huyundai for my daughter a few years ago and agree it was awkward (and he was - um .. not bright to say the least), afterwards he tried such a hard sell on us we ended up walking away in amused disgust and bought a toyota lol. I have a bit of trouble keeping right and wrong side of brioche correct with the y/o business - which stitch does it belong to, the left or the right once you're turned and keeping it consistent is tricky for me. Looking forward to your stash video .. happy knitting . Ailsa
@mostlyknitting
@mostlyknitting Ай бұрын
Thanks so much Ailsa. I definitely have some of my old FOs come into rotation again when i pull them out. Usually i need to do some form of surgery or fixing such as shortening the body or lengthening the sleeves. I had the same thing with the guy who came with us. He called me the next day and i didnt recognise the number and i was really busy so i rejected the call. He called again a second later and i thought maybe one of my kids had lost their phone and they were borrowing a friends or something - it felt urgent for someone to call me straight away after i rejected the call. Nope. Nothing urgent. Just the guy trying to sell me a car. Too pushy for me...
