The OO vowel helped me in balancing falsetto and chest registers, thus discovering my head voice. I hope I can recreate it anywhere. That was good Justin, although it's easier for you since you're a leggiero tenor.

Gammacentrum12 We hope it's easy for you tooooooooooooo! Keep singin' that OO!

New York Vocal Coaching It's partly easy for me. It's easier for tenors because of how their singing voice mechanism was created.
@into.the.wood.chipper.5 жыл бұрын
@@gammacentrum1264 How is it different from the baritone mechanism? I'm also a tenor and slightly confused about that.
@darksidessj253 жыл бұрын
Hi, Justin my name is Justin! I am a countertenor and I have the most fun in my high range. I guess it is pretty rare for a guy to have a higher range cause I lacked a low voice. Anything below a G3 and I go flat lol. I just knew my voice was different and I dealt with it my whole life and I always wondered why my voice sound like it does. I even get mistaken as being young over mic . Thanks for your wonderful series. It took me 7 months to get my registers to blend and my coach said I did a good job with it. My first coach said I was a Bari/Tenor but I was breathing wrong and I didn't even try to do the exercises.

great info. I was LMAO with the pop singers comment. But I find with this vowel even with this exercise it makes me reach, tense, scratch, scrape, and squeeze my cords. It's like the embouchure shuts down my whole vocal apparatus. My only way of getting there is through "goo", the tongue trilled "oo", or some other vowel that I Can do. .
@NewYorkVocalCoaching9 жыл бұрын
Glitter Oh Dazzle Sounds like a clear case of darker vowel being performed too much with the tongue. Add that G you mentioned to the beginning of the exercise (GOONG) and that should help you. The NG is already there for this reason, but some singers will retract and bunch their tongue even on a NG. Keep that tongue free and flexible in all your vowels - particularly in the darker ones! :)

Can I ask you an honest question? As stated in a previous comment - I DO have the range to sing about 2 and a half octaves (from C below middle to about G an octave above middle C.) Does practicing these help one to sing those higher notes more easily? As in does your voice get more used to it and becomes strengthened by doing these daily? Thanks!

Hi Daphne! The exercise Justin used here went up to Flageolet. Keeping the embouchure very tiny helps you to get into this vocal register. It sounds like you just might not be used to Flageolet. So, not to worry! Keep working at it and it will get better. :) For more information on this register you can watch these episodes: “Flageolet Explained - Expand Your Vocal Range!” - Ep. 36 Quick Singing Tips Ep. 113 "Expand Your Vocal Range" - Voice Lessons To The World We hope this helps! -NYVC

Whitney Houston I know this may be a very late response but to me, this situation sounds like it could be having to do with the bridge/passagio.
