EP City Council is Failing Us During the Pandemic

The Mayor and his cronies on council are failing El Pasoans during the Pandemic. They are focused on political showboating rather than solutions on how to fight the virus and keep El Pasoans safe.

Jaime, I’m sorry this pandemic has effected you in such a sorrowful and profound way. I like you, I like your contend even though I lean in the opposite direction, the service you provide to this community is brilliant, thank you for all you do. With that said, I take issue with the “lockdowns” and “enforcement” because how does one groups rights become more important than another’s. If we continue locking down the community, closing businesses, and putting people out of work aren’t we taking people’s rights to provide for their families. We should be free to make our own choices, free to provide, and free from big brother. Thank you Jamie, god bless.

Thank you for the comments! But that’s the problem, council isn’t providing us with cluster data. How can we actually make our own choices if they are hiding critical information to allow us to make the best choices possible. I will also say that the minute one person’s decisions hurt other people is when people have a right to protection.

Cluster data is a catch too because if the city doxed a particular business I’m sure it would open them up for lawsuits because it would ruin the establishment. This whole situation is touch and go, nobody can know what they are doing. As comforting as it sounds for somebody to be able to protect us, I assure you the government is the wrong one. A little personal, but do you know how you contracted COVID 19?

@@jondoe399 no, reporting facts doesn’t open them up to lawsuits. You have to show that there was willful and reckless intent - and it has to be false. Government shouldn’t be in the business of covering for bad actors. You literally just said we should be able to make our own decisions. I’m agreeing with you.
