Hello from Centreville Michigan in the USA. I enjoy your videos and like the awesome and gentle way you handle the fish. I love carp fishing and do a lot of it meself in our river that we live near. It is the thrill of the catch that keeps me going back! We have a saying here that A bad day of fishing is better than any day at work.

Another great video Chris and the lads. Unfortunate results. I'm sure the Monument staff wont be happy with the comments at the end, but you told it like it is - £60 for 36 hours is scandalous in my opinion, and for 2 fish under 10lb? Nah. I look forward to the next one!

you got to tell it how it is mate. you dont pay £60 to catch lumps and then catch fish smaller then uou can on a cheap commercial fishery.

Good video guy's on a tough venue the comments below are mostly total shite people talking total bollocks listen all carp lakes are artificially stocked in one way or another as the carp were originally introduced by man the monument is the modern face of UK carp fishing get over it if u don't like these waters don't go and 60quid ain't that expensive look at linear hunts it's just over 60quid for forty eight hours so roughly the same price as are countless other waters the majority of carp fishermen now fish for big fish it's all about the weight so all you moaners commenting here are the minority in the carp world all the shite too they are only simmos etc don't make me laugh if you caught a 40lb one tomorrow you would be doing cartwheels don't be hypocrites and just accept carp fishing for what it is if u like low stocked pits for one bite a year well enjoy

I agree with what you're saying, but that's all in the past, you won't boycott Rob Hales waters as a hell of a lot of people fish his waters, and he's well respected by many anglers here and abroad, and if you don't want to fish his waters then don't, sure I value you're opinion, but that's all it is...an opinion

Please dont tell me you are going back there. Those venues are everything thats wrong with carp fishing. You have to use their bait. For fuck sake. Its all about money. Rob Hales other lake Ringstead was stocked with fish stolen from Lac du Der by Kevin Maddocks and he brought them across the channel in sacks and water tanks illegally, bringing all sorts of risks of contamination to our waters. £60 for 36 hours? Absolute piss take. Boycott these venues, dont advertise them.

firstly yes i do intend to go back. fish is fish!! im not a carp snob where i think i must only fish for certain carp. secondly you've obviously never been as they provide all nets, slings and mats so as not to spread diseases. more to not allow anything coming into the lake. thirdly buy their own bait is no big deal as its cheap at only £7 a kilo. you'd be using bait anyway id presume??? so why not their own at that price??

+MrCarpking71 The other point is that that whole business was founded on stolen fish. Stolen from a lake in France that me and my mate used to fish, right ip until Maddocks got caught with over 100 fish in sacks and two vans. He got caught by the Guarde de Pesche (fishing police) and since then ALL UK anglers have been treated like potential theives. RHF did not provide nets and retainers 15 years ago when the fish were coming straight from France with no health checks. The only reason he provides his own stuff now is because he doesnt want his own stock going belly up, as that would cost him money. My views have nothing to do with being a carp snob. If he hadnt stolen all those fish before, I would probably fish there. And you boys said yourself it was a lot of money to catch a couple of "pasties".
