ep29 Bishops Garage - 1966 Mustang Windshield Removal

Welcome back! Its close to fall and time to think about protecting that old classic, refurbing some seals or replacing old gaskets.
Today I am working on a 1966 Mustang, original color was Ivy Gold which was renamed in 1968 to Bullit Green after the movie that made car chases in downtown San Francisco a fun thing.

As a note, in the video, i found a partial stub from an old drive in theater visit. The Kenmore Drive In opened in 1953 and closed in 1984, just over 30 years of films and drive-in car fun were had.

why was urs so easy? I have a 69 and mine is like glued on it’s so hard to take off

I waited until I had a 90 degree F day (32C), left the car facing the sun so the old rubber would be soft. After a couple of hours it was pretty soft to remove. Ya that old sealant was generously lathered on at the factory for sure!

4:54 time... the bent on the chrome Omg. Take your time use plastic wedges. Dont pull or twist on the chrome peices. Other then that good video.
