I think there is definitely a market for brands. I’m an interior designer and find if you have money you are happy to pay for brands which is relative to their property value - similar to cars. Branded products and materials etc to certain people matter especially if they have an unlimited budget! But as you say it’s all down to location . If the location isn’t right no matter what the brand is it won’t work. Very interesting discussion.

For us in Estepona, the drop in sales is due in part to the lack of supply. What we do have is selling and selling quickly. But getting the listings is much more difficult at the moment!

That´s a really interesting (and valid) point. Thanks for sharing. Best regards, Sean

As far as Estepona is concerned, I believe that the sales volume is significantly skewed by the fact that there are a huge number of off-plan sales taking place that will not be reflected in the figures for 1 to 2 years.

That makes sense.

Designer brand properties are all well and good but what will the re-sale price be in 5 or 10 years time. Fashion and trends do move around and I expect that the premium that was paid when new will be lost on a re-sale. I may be very wrong but I just think the atractability (if there is such a word lol) will disappear in years to come.

It´s a really interesting debate isn´t it? I think if it´s done well and with the right brand, significant value can be added to resale values, BUT care is needed in choosing the right product and brand.
