Without garages and places to plug in to chargers what do they do. I'm sure the owners are not interested in the millions they would have to spend to install charging stations in the lots. Unless of course they could make millions back. Aside from that the electric here is problematic to begin with, so the utility would have to spend millions to support the added load. Have you ever seen the smog that hovers over all major cities. It used to be much worse in the 80's and 90's before the EPA guided policy to clean up emissions. When I was a kid back in the 80's everyone threw everything in he trash! Think about the wastefulness of all of that glass, aluminum, copper, steel, etc. etc. going to forever be buried in a dump. Most days now, it is clear when it is supposed to be clear. We have made huge strides in the last 50 years. There were rivers in the US then that were so polluted then that they would burn. No more. Yet that isn't mentioned. The EPA is telling us what kind of car we have to drive and telling the manufacturers how to build them. Gov. Newsom in California is completely removing gas cars and trucks when we already have high costs and higher taxes as businesses flee.He wants all electric vehicles when we don't have enough electricity now. I could go on. The point is, the EPA and many woke politicians are taking things too far and people just can't afford it. It is killing businesses that provide jobs. It is making shipping even more costly. It is making the building of new homes more expensive. We have to begin to balance what we would like with what we can afford. These laws are being passed by people who routinely fly in private jets while we sit at home. They have two or three homes which are all air conditioned. We are the workers on their plantation and they want us to cut back so they are more comfortable. We need adults in government who understand economics. .

He told me to look at the telephone poles and stated that they've been up since the 1930s - 1940s and if neighbourhoods were built on around that Grid Area and every single home had an average of 2-3 EVs in the garages, that the grid would be overloaded to the point that the wires would melt down and the whole area, possibly the whole nearest town, would be without power.

I have a completely different opinion: Take a look at Ken Block's videos of how he wipes out 4 tires on one battery charge with his electric Audi at 6000(!) NewtonMeters! That ist reely amazing... Nowadays cars no longer have to roar loudly and emit as much black (poisonous, smelly) smoke as possible. This can all be done much more elegantly without constantly burning dinosaur fuel using 100-year-old, sophisticated technology. In America too, sooner or later city dwellers in particular will be happy about fresher, cleaner air and less noise. There, in particular, people will gradually learn to appreciate electric cars, vans and trucks more and more. And in 10 years your children will tell you: How could you be so stubborn; Why did you fight against it, everything is so much better without exhaust fumes and noise...

@@Pro_Erneuerbare-Energien Well, the Germans always seem to forget that the electricity is mainly coming from coal and gas power plants, so battery cars are not emissions free, the opposite is true. Plus, an electricity grid fully powered by so called renewables does just not work or respectively is very expensive (note the insanely high prices for electricity in Germany, especially in winter time). And as final note: Electric or battery cars are based on a 100 years old technology as well, meaning they were around since that time, even if the technology improved as it did on the combustion engines. People should have the freedom to chose what works best for them, this should not be mandated by a government as it will never work (there is plenty of historical experience on that one, note the GDR).

The EPA doesn’t have the power to create a law like this. I live in a cold climate with no charging stations that I know of. I know of one instance where someone’s EV died in the winter and it was turned into a brick. It had to loaded on a rollback and transported 200 miles to the dealer. The people sold it right after that.

The State just added $1.60 in hidden gas taxes and fees in 2024 that the public generally doesn't have a clue about. I drive 30,000 miles a year. I can't own an electric vehicle. I live in a condo that doesn't have EV chargers and has a bylaw stating no EV chargers can be installed in the garage due to a fire hazard. There isn't a single EV charger in my small town. My job doesn't have any EV chargers in the parking lot. Where exactly would I charge my EV? This State is run by absolute nut jobs.
