This is the first time I’ve seen celery root in an English speaking recipe video, and I’ve seen many. I wonder why it isn’t more common. In Germany, usually the root is what is referred to as celery, while the stalk is what gets further specified as celery stalk. That’s because we use the root much more often here than the stalks. Just an interesting cultural difference I guess. There’s also a type of vegetable called Kohlrabi in Germany that never gets used in the English speaking videos. If you can get your hands on it, try it, it’s delicious!
@lolsxd84333 жыл бұрын
Hoi my german fellow Ich hab Kohlrabie und Cellery auch noch nie in englischen Kochvidios gesehen... aber auch nicht in deutschen. Ich glaube die beiden sind einfach nicht so kochegen.

@@sandrine4971 Kohlrabi is really nice peeled and raw, you can roast it with some other vegetables (I personally like it seasoned with rosemary and thyme) or you can just cook it and have it with potatoes and a creamy sauce

This stew looks wonderful. Can't wait to make it. If you don't like to use wine, I have found that pomegranate juice (for red wine) or red or white wine vinegar (depending on the recipe) really works better than broth for adding depth and complexity to a dish.

“My Heart Will Go On” on the recorder brought back painful memories. I literally had to play it for 3 years straight. I can’t hear that song without cringing.
