If you have ever wondered if Kumamoto is worth visiting, where to go/what to do, and how many days to spend in the Kumamoto Prefecture (Kyushu Japan), this video will help with these questions! Hopefully it will also provide good enough reasons for you to visit Kumamoto while you’re in Kyushu! We went in April, and the weather was fairly mild, so I personally think it’s a great time to visit Kuamoto or Kyushu!
EXTRA TIP: If you want to view Sakura when visiting Kyushu, make sure you vist around 2nd last week &/or last week of March. We visited Kyushu in April, so we JUST missed the full bloom 😭

@@Curious_Nomster Hi, I noticed your drone shots. Did you need to get a license to fly the drone? I am planning to bring my drone along when I visit Kyushu. Not sure if licences are required for recreational/ tourist purposes.

@user-mx6hh2xm3z Howdy! Any drones that you use need to be registered to fly in Japan. You can register on www.mlit.go.jp/koku/drone/en/. It only took me a few days to receive the rego, and it costs less than 20 USD. Remember to put the rego number they give you on the drone, that's part of the requirement also. Hope this helps :)

Great work. Nicely shot, great drone work, heaps of research. Very cool that you got to the top of Mt Aso. I was erupting when we were there so we couldn't get to the viewing area. We loved Takachiho too. We didn't get to Kumamoto unfortunately. But it gives us another place to visit next time. We'd like to spend more time there and Kagoshima and southern Miyazaki. It really is a beautiful place. Lovely video Elaine, and I am looking forward to Part 3.
