Texas surf fishing always makes for an EPIC day. Today I am saltwater beach fishing with fish heads as bait to try to catch some Texas Bull Reds! Erin and I have already caught our PBs, but nothing beats the adrenaline of that fight. We are catching whiting to use as fishing bait. Have you tried something like this? Comment below!

I love how excited Erin gets when you catch a fish! My wife doesn't fish very often and I don't think she really did any fishing before she met me. But now, after being together for 20+ years, she will bait her own line, cast her own line and most of the time she will take her own fish off the hook. She also gets really excited when she has a fish on her line! Nothing makes me more proud than when she reels in a good sized one, and she enjoys not knowing what she has! She reminds me of me, when I was first fishing with my dad and how excited I got when I would reel in my line to see what type of fish I had! I could just sit back and watch her fish and get the same enjoyment, if not more, by just watching her excitement and feeling excited myself when she reels in a big one or a new type of fish. THIS is why fishing is such a longstanding pastime, that is enjoyed by a wide-ranging and diverse group of people. From young to old, men to women, family members to strangers and there is no limit to the enjoyment and excitement when you feel that strike, followed by the tip of your rod bending and knowing that you have a catch on your line, feeling the anticipation of finding out what it is - is a red? A Spot? Flounder? Shark? Blowfish? Croaker? Mullet? Skate? Blue? Black Drum? Big, small, medium? I think I enjoy watching my girls (2 daughters and my wife) reel in their catch, just as much as I enjoy catching my own, maybe more! My only regret is that I never got the chance to share this adventure with my granddaughter.

Hey guys. Just wanted to thank you for your videos and your products. I have never fished saltwater before and after months of watching your videos and learning techniques you teach, I went to Anna Maria Island in Florida and tried out what I learned from you! I was using shrimps bits and clammy bits. I have 2 rigs and I got the first one set and in the water and within 2 minutes, as I was trying to set my second pole, the first one started bending! I caught a catfish. Was only at the beach for 1 1/2 hours but I caught a couple catfish. I returned them of course! It was so exciting and I know it was because of your help. By the way, I was also using your catch all rigs! They work great!! Thanks so much for what you do!!!

You can't keep the whole stone crab in Texas you can only keep one legal claw. per TWC - To be kept, claws must be two and one-half inches long, measured from the tips of the immovable finger to the first joint. Only one legal size claw may be removed and then the crab must be returned immediately to the water.

Was just a few more miles down from there last week using a similar set up but bigger chopped baits. Had 5 really nice shark including a 10' hammerhead. But also 2 over slot Reds and a 40" Big Ugly. Did have a big ray that snapped me up after a long fight. Its great out there right now.

At daybreak of Friday morning of Memorial day weekend about 5 miles down the be beach from the inlet of Matagorda Beach at beginning of the video I was surf fishing and had 3 rods out and all 3 hooked up almost simultaneously. Ended up with 2 bull red both released ( 35” & my PB 40 1/2 “ ) and a 26” slot I filleted and my wife & I enjoy that evening. Been enjoying your videos especially the one of our Texas coast cause I’ve fished most of these areas. Keep the videos coming & Tight lines

just a small tip on your set up. spider weights are the way to go down here on the Texas coast. your throwing an 8oz, but a 4oz or 6oz spider will hold those baits better. also they will give you better casting distance if your hang the hook on your weight prong.

About 7-8 miles down the beach was a very epic floundering spot!! We used to go gigging out there overnight and walk the water with our lanterns and kill it for flounder...some people used to take their flat bottoms with the light setups out there too...maybe next time you try floundering, I haven't seen any content like that on your channel before.....but great reds bud!!

Nice catches those catfish (Cut them in sections make sure to cut off the sharp fins believe me that poke hurts and burns)use them for shark and Gar especially in that inlet with the river those Gars are running I'm surprised one didn't hit your line...
