Not to mention a good retirement home sounds awesome! At some point my family had to send grandpa to one, because he needed 24/7 care and we couldn't do it at home anymore. If he could walk, he'd be having a blast! There were plenty of friendly people, there was always some movie on display or a bingo game happening, the nurses would walk the residents to get some sunlight in the morning. Heck, sign me up!!

Lol, hell no. If you think cats are a way to "calm down" maternal instincts you clearly have no idea what it is like to have no willing to raise a human. The love and care I have for my cat is completely different from the love and care I don't have for my imaginary kids. I wouldn't harm a child, that's not what I am saying... but I have zero tolerance for annoying and obnoxious songs on repeat all day long, messy homes full of eye-sore bright colored toys, or someone calling me all the time because they need something or want to show me something I have no interest in. My cat, or my rabbit.. they wouldn't do this. When my cat is meowing too much I pick it up and make him sleep (he's clingy and shuts up when he's on my lap). Rabbits do nothing but chew on hay and either sleep or happily hop around, in silence. And your "being yatch-free makes me a millionaire!" analogy was.. weird, to say the least. I do not know a single person who has bought a boat without being able to afford it, nor is having a yatch considered "something you have to do in life". Exactly because having kids is something you "just do", many people who can barely survive on their paychecks go into debt to finance a child they shouldn't have had if they had a bit of common sense. So, yes, skipping on this "checkpoint of life" indeed is saving you money if you are somewhat smart and save it instead of spending on something else. Last but not least, if one thinks having kids is the best contribution they can bring to the planet, or the most meaningful thing and that someone who doesn't have kids is "doing nothing" with their lives.. I feel sorry for them. Congrats, your parents raised you and you worked your butt off to.. pass on your genes, which make no difference to mankind. Wows. What a legacy. Leaving a legacy and doing something meaningful with your life means impacting others positively. This is something only you can control, with your actions - a child is not a legacy. If you need another creature to make your life mean something, that's nothing but pitiful. Instead of making a gamble that "oHh MaYbE My cHiLd WiLL cUrE CaNcEr" I'd rather spend my time and energy making people's lives better, servicing them, and helping animal shelters. 🤫

I completely agree with what you said. People who have children without being able to afford them are irresponsible. what life can they give that child if they can't afford shit. And it doesn't seem to get better because our economy is getting worse so imagine you end up on the streets with kids. Some might think that I'm overreacting but you really have to think about everything before making this decision. People like us just want to live in peace without having to worry about a child for the rest of your life because parenthood doesn't end when the child turns 18. So lets enjoy our child free lives and let the parents be mad who made the decision to have kids cuz there are o lot of them out there.

And you mentioned the economy... it's likely the kid will live with you or depend on you financially for way longer than 18 years. If one plans to just push them out and shut the door, they are terrible people and are just further proving they shouldn't be parents.

I'd advise to watch her videos, write down every single physical/mental and emotional burden mothers can go through, read the list and try to project all these could happen to you. Maybe then you'd understand why some women are deciding it's not worth the risk - with other outside factors maybe even making it impossible.
