In 1975 I was a sailor aboard the USS Coral Sea CV-43, I worked in aviation fuels division. We were in a maintenance period and we cleaned all the JP5 fuel tanks. It was a messy and smelly job. While in the last tank of the job after everyone else left the tank I sat down there with my blues harp, and began playing. It was the most awesome sound I ever got with a B-flat Hohner. There were very few ways in those days; none that I could afford, to get that kind of reverb and/or echo. Several days later while waiting for inspection, the small group I played with on the ship brought down instruments, acoustic guitars and a saxophone, with my harmonicas. What fun we had and I have always been a huge fan of REVERB since. I want one of those Poly Verbs!!!

Pete as always masterfully brings the best out of any gear he touches, but I'm honestly in awe about the Captain's playing, after a decade or so of watching this channel, his playing has gotten better and better, hats off to you, that intro was a real treat!

They should market that pedal as an anti-anxiety treatment. "get lost in the trails, forget your problems." I find so many of those presets relaxing and transporting.

We've all undoubtedly visited spaces that have inspired us with their sound, so the idea of capturing these natural and unique reverb effects and using them in a pedal is a real game-changer.
@CorbCorbin10 ай бұрын
It’s a cool idea, but it never sounds like an actual cave, or a Hall, etc. I actually think digital reverb is better, unless one is just playing a place with amazing acoustics to start with. The reason being, because one can change adjust how dark, how much, add modulation, pre-delay, backwards, etc. I just don’t like the Fender spring reverbs, that many love. I don’t care about drip, as it’s something I wouldn’t use a lot. Then when it comes to ambient amounts of reverb, or ones for ambient stuff, the reverb eventually becomes the same sound when the decay is so long, until one adds shimmer, mod, etc. I usually use a small amount of plate or a Room setting that won’t muddy any delay. Don’t get me wrong, I’d get one if I had disposable income, for every cool pedal there is. It sounds wicked as hell. If I had the cash, I’d have the Chase Bliss Automatone, among several of their older pedals, the Meris LVX and MercuryX, as well as every $500+ Uni Vibe out there, to try them all… I could go on and on…😆

I'm not interested in a lot of this gear - especially the myriad pedals - but I love hearing Pete play. Finding him was finding gold. Lee sounds good too - very humble. He may not have the theoretical understanding, but he can definitely play. These are the reasons I check in everyday. - Monte Croft, Associate Professor, Berklee College of Music

I wasn't going to watch this because "er ner (Hull accent) norra nuther reverb pedal" but the top of my head fell off from grinning from ear to here. You were having so much fun it was contagious. Reverb is one of those things, like you said, you go places and the reverb in the space says "if only I could bottle this" seems you can (no bottle) and, what a relief, it's not just me.

NICE play out Captain, Pete~ fantastic as always, just the Captain has come through to a particular tone stamp of his own, and you guy’s have cost me a fortune this month alone, couldn’t do without the Soldano Astro-20 (and with the proper 2x12 Soldano cabinet) and now I just pre-ordered this Verbs pedal from Poly, and I live in fear of asking about the T-style single bridge and P90 guitars you both were playing, can’t sell any more blood, feeling…..weak…….
