1. You can hire at the wagon 2. You don't have to fully enter the base to start hiring. 3. A good strategy would've been to let somebody else capture the flag so they weren't close to your base during the fighting. 4. Maybe try using Defenders! 5. You're doing an awesome job and great game :)

I've been playing it for about a day now and each map does present challenges. By the time I made it to this map, I thought I'd solved it. Approach, fall back, let them fight, pilum, pilum, charge. Worked great until green materialized to my left from behind some bushes and dragged me from 19->8, forcing me to fall back. My only gripes have been the standard-bearer insistence on standing in your sight picture, as you saw in this video, and prolonged battles do tend to end with you spec'd out and rolling in cash. Also, in the early maps it's kind of annoying spawning under the stairs of your base.

Was more than happy to pay for early access today and enjoy the three missions multiple times :) I really look forward to what they make of the game in the future. One thing you will find is that a simple loop becomes apparent and that mission 1 is, in fact, the most dynamic thus far. The other two are simpler in that you can always rely on the AI rushing Mid. So use that and get all the bases over and over while they mess around in mid. Cannot wait for pvp. I love humans!!!!

I hope that they make it so you can pick which time period you want. Right now you can only play in an early time. For example you could pick a specific battle and that will change the equipment to match the time period. That’s why the legionaries are wearing chain mail like auxiliaries units because that was an early point in Roman history. If you could pick an older battle than the militia would be auxiliaries and the legionaries would wear Lorica segmentation or segmented iron plates like the standard in shield wall. I’m also hoping for more factions and formations.

Hi Apollo. Just observing that you have a tendancy to leave live enemies behind as you move on to your next objective. What's happening is that when your soldiers throw the enemies over with their shields, it doesn't actually kill them. So basically the enemy is on the ground alive and well (albeit a little dizzy) and you're moving away; letting him have his way with your a... behind. So to speak. Oh. And another thing. I tend to go for the forts early on while everyone else is busy with the wagon. That's how I've been winning that particular battle. But your way works too. At least I learned about the gold thing. I missed that one.
