I made it too. Waited for blue to sally out, and quickly bashing the front door in. When they came back, I put the army on the wall and threw the pila at them. After that it was a cake walk.

If you don't want to use the secret path, I found a very effective way of taking it. Eliminate all the other teams, hold the flag purple goes for normally. Then when they go for the flag run past them and attack their fort. Once your men are attacking the fort, you and only you retreat when the enemy tries to return you just hold them off single handily and your men will take the fort.

If you're interested in secrets, you can actually climb at the top of the mountain between the points A, B and F in the first mission. You start at B, jumb on the barrel and then make your way to the top. It's not useful for the gameplay but you get a nice little view of the map up here.

In my experience the best way to take the fort head on is to QUICKLY get all the other flags and keep pressuring them, get the gate down, retreat, beat the army, attack, until you get it. Getting the banner early makes your army stronger faster as well.

I didn't know there was a secret entrance lol, I fought their army like 20 times before I finally took the fort from the front. This way is fast and all but sort of takes the fun out of the game, there is no challenge anymore.

Fun thing I found out, if your attacking and your army is fighting but you low on health and being chased by enemy troops, if you jump onto a building they will turn back to the army and you can pick them off using the javelins

Nice work around to that gate problem Apollo. You should try to pila a gate. 1-2 volleys should do massive damage considering only 3-4 guys hit the gate with their swords in an attack.

i beat the thing first try by just taking all of the flags then as u take the flag outside the fort so then the purples come out then sneak around and go into the fort then just defend for a bit but cool passage i didnt notice i just thought it was hard or something :)

When I did this mission first I ran into the same problem you did. But then the next day I tried again and all I needed to do was go around the army and attack the fort. I did this with a small army.

This is an opinion but I think that the fort gives to many points. Once you have control over the fort you have an almost guaranteed win. Good vid as always though, Apollo!
