that is some serious old school blacksmithing, even if you did use a "directional forge" to heat the rivits and the tenon. I used to be a good bladesmith, but i never would have tried something like that!

I saw how hard you were hammering to get that work done with a torch and no anvil to help move the metal. Skill there, as you fitted the tenon, and did not deform the lines of the workpiece. Good temp management.

Excellent joinery method, Daniel! Hot piened tenon is almost as strong as a forge welded joint. 👉💪👈

Great job, is there anything that you won't tackle. The gate is pretty neat and definitely worth bringing back to its original glory.
