@@helpimlost.62 oh gosh, such a frustrating, chronic illness and directly caused by diet. First, he should stop eating all animal products and cooking oils - all flesh, all dairy products, all egg products, and ALL oils including olive and coconut. There is a detox stage and I found myself sleeping quite a bit for about 3 days. If he can do a juice fast during this time, I'm told that's helpful. Then start filling his gut with the good stuff - all kinds of veggies, beans, fruit, grains. I LOVE oven roasted potato wedges and eating slaw mixes as salads. For me, cheese was the hardest to walk away from and it is designed to be addictive so expect withdrawal in the form of extreme cravings. I promise these get better and eventually disappear. I truly believe I’ve reversed all my back pain 1 year after I went plant based whole food no Oil. It’s been six years now and I haven’t had a single occurrence. (Cured) in my opinion. My back would go out twice a month sometimes three. It was debilitating. Years of doctor visits w/ medications, chiropractors and physical therapy. All of that doesn’t hold a candle to my lifestyle change. Fatty liver reversed. High blood pressure reversed. Pre diabetes reversed. Aches and pains reversed. Skin problems reversed. Acute narcolepsy reversed. Sleep apnea reversed. Feet problems reversed. Low sex drive reversed. I was 28 and had two jobs one working 10 hours a day and the other as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer teaching 6 classes 5 days a week. I meal prepped with lean meats and vegetables. Ate 6 to 7 times a day weighed 195 lbs and looked like I was a picture of health. Wrong. Now I’m 165 and look 10 years younger. @Margaret Jones Yes the women look very healthy...doesnt Pam look just beautiful and the one who is sleeping half the time. And the guy with the bent spine from not enough protein that builds the matrix that calcium adheres to so he may be getting enough calcium but not enough protein. Yeah that nice glowing yellow skin? They all look frail and they are the poster boys and girls? If you do not get the correct protein you aint gonna be building muscle by eating grass. Of course the bulls eat grass and look how good there muscles are...if you want to use that type of logic have at it. Eat low protein based on some rat research. But what they did not tell you about the rat research where when you increase the protein with the correct amino acid ratio well the high protein group lived longer. As folks get older they need more protein to keep there muscle structure up. The problems with the elderly is they lose there muscle and then are sitting in a wheel chair. I myself am 70 years old straight carnivore. Work out with weights walk 3 miles a day. Tried the Gundry low protein lost 30 lbs of muscle mass and slept all day...went carnivore and doing great. Was helping my nephew move his equipment dragging a 80 lb chain across a concrete floor slipped on some oil...the whole body hit the concrete...he looked at me and said your not getting out of work that easy. Jumped up no broken bones..no hips cracking no aches and pains. Think about it.

My grandfather had a heat attack and subsequently foundout he also had severe diabetes when he was in his mid-50s back in the mid-1980s. He was an old country farm boy without even a highschool education and had lived his whole life eating tons of meat and dairy (lived on a dairy farm growing up!) and sugar. When he had his heart attack, he had a hard-nosed surgeon who knew his stuff and told him if you don't cut this fat out of your diet, cut the sugar out, and add walkin to your life, you are not going to live more than another year or two. My grandfather completely changed his life, cut the added fats completely out (they werent recommending plant based then but the only meat he ended up eataing waas a bit of chicken breast and white fish and egg whites becaause it was the only thing low-fat enough he could eat and he gave up dairy more or less) and he lived another 30 years and never had dimentia right up until the day he died. He kept to that diet because, ,as these doctors point out, his doctor didn't give him a choice. He told him straight up you change or you're going to die. I think if more docs took that approach thered be more people willing to change.

Dr. Ornish has a lot to say - important stuff, too. I just wish he would say a little less when he is supposed to be sharing a stage with others. He never misses an opportunity to toot his own experiences. By the time the moderator gets to Dr. Greger, there's nothing left to say.

You're welcome. Despite my having permission from the event and the doctors and 4th party has been attacking me for putting these up. Not only did I get permission I had to fly, then take a bus, book a bed for 4 nights, and spent 3 weeks editing the 6 videos I put up from this and 3 videos I still haven't finished because of the 4th party disruptions. Plus, since this I've been to Vegan Summerfest in PA, Animal Rights Conference in VA, International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine in DC, and the Animal Rights March in LA. So, it's been hard to deal with these false copyright claims. I have so much to edit from all these events that I just don't have time to fight for the work I work so hard to capture and create. But, I'm trying to muscle through this nonetheless...

A new wave is coming as indicated by the meat industry now fighting the veggie burgers. Ignoring them doesn't work any more. I saw a multi-tiered shelf section of meat substitutes in the supermarket yesterday. The big companies will sell more processed veggie burgers at meat prices if they can. Most of the ones I saw had the suspicious vegetable oils. Times have changed. I became aware of a plant based diet recently. As one over 70, I am stunned but happy to see a way to avoid some bad health at this point.

Yes, questionable oils are an issue if someone is trying to eat totally healthy. But, virtually everyone can eat whole-food, plant based now. And those mock meats and other unhealthy vegan options are just junk food. People can be vegan for the planet, animals, and/or health.

Fake meat is probably worse than the real thing. Processed foods are poison and should be avoided at all costs. People are inherently lazy, including myself, but I won't lie to myself about what good nutrition is WFPB SOS and leave the rest behind. Beans peas lentils are my meat now.

Well probably a good reason Plant based nutrition increases your chances of stroke, arthritis etc. Look at that bunch do they really look healthy. The one guy spine is bent over from lack of protein...oh yes protein builds a matrix that calcium binds to so it keeps your bones healthy, And it has to be proper protein a certain balance of amino acids that plant protein does not have. Do you look like any of those folks up there do you really think that they look like healthy folks...the one lady is sleeping during the presentation and looks like she has had a stroke. Yeah great stuff.

Brilliant. These guys are underappreciated. A barrier to diet and nutrition based health care is that our corporate ag techniques are growning plants lacking in most nutrients. Even organically grown food can have low nutrient value because plants cannot absorb soil nutrients if there is not a balance of fungi, aerobic bacteria, and predatory micro organisms like nematodes and protozoa. This balance forms the nutrient cycle absent in corporate ag. The nutrient cycle is destroyed by using fertilizers, fungicides, pesticides or any process - tilling, for example - that destroy the micro organisms. You dont believe me, then watch lectures by soil scientists Dr. Christine Jones, Dr. Elaine Ingham, and Dr. Walter Jehne. Health care is not our model, our model is treatment for profit. Cornish saved those hospitalsinsurance companies $millions but those savings were not passed on as lower insurance rates just kept as profit.
