I may be young but already started having back issues at 26 even though I did the weight lifting and the exersize. Moving away from a desk job helped a little bit but getting back into the college seats (terrible!) didn't help much. Even got downed for a few days for twisting my back the wrong way. I also gained 20 kilograms over the years thinking I was "buff" and "Swole" from my training. And people believed I was muscular rather than fat. Yoga fixed by back pain but only if I kept doing it and sometimes it would return badly. Turend 29 went full Whole Food Plant Based. Never had any backpain from that point on, combined with my "tool" sometimes not fuctioning I realise now I was at the starting point of artherosclerosis. A really scare thought to realise in hindsight. Right now I am 31 , 2 years on a plant based diet no back pain not even recurring, tools operating at max capacity again. Lost 20 kilograms and got the BMI back to the 21 range. And feeling more energetic and looking better than I ever did before. Bloodwork came back the other day and on an indication basis they determined it was comparable to those of an 18!! year old. Yea I practice and I preach this livestyle, I probably saved me from an very early heart attack and maybe even an early grave. Everything I did before was false and information spread on false pretenses. At huge buckets of whole fat yoghurt,.. more meat than I can account for (sometime said 'I atleast need 1 dead animal a day'...) and never any veggies. So if a person like me can make the change cold turkey from one day to another I believe anyone can! Also thanking James Wilks for gamechangers.. it really was a gamechanger for me.

Did you get any pushback from people around you or doctors? I used it to combat my conditiln that’s genetic , no cure . I went from handfuls of meds not really solving issues to near zero , moving more. Yet it was dismissed as not being diet related. “Nah. Diet doesn’t make these kind of changes. Did you start walking ? Exercise helps .” Once I learned that nutrition vs exercis... ends with nutrition representing like 70% of your health outcomes... my lazy but chose that’ and I’ve never felt better

@@MrMasterDebate Never had any pushback luckely. Probably because I didnt communicate it like that. My treatments were sporadic only to intervene when complaints turned into disfunctionality. The cherry on top of following this way of living is that animals are no longer bred to suffer , killed and consumed. Also the planet will thank us and recover . Human beings DO NOT NEED TO CONSUME ANIMALS FOR PROTEIN , humans consume animals as a want and it’s all BUSINESS. …it’s changed my life and it will change yours . Take care 🌱

I also get blood work done every couple years to make sure I’m not falling into deficiency. Most vegans, especially those that do not eat processed foods, should add a B-12 supplement. I did fall into a critical deficiency for vitamin D even though I live at the beach and am an outdoor person. I now supplement with vitamin D intermittently. Blood work is essential IMO to get information about your needs. Hope this helps!

The main reason no study, no matter how profound, on how eating a whole food plant based study can reverse or prevent most of the diseases caused by bad diet will ever take hold in America is because of our low education standards. Most Americans do not believe in science or studies. For example I showed my dad study after study about how stents don't work and that changing his diet will help stop his condition from getting worse and will probably reverse it. His response is always "oh that's just one opinion". The only way this movement will take hold is if our educational system improves, otherwise all the studys in the world will fall on deaf ears. Also insurance companies do not want less money spent on health care because they get a fixed percentage of all the money spent. So if they reduce the money spent, it will kill their bottom line.

Have to go starch based to make plant based sustainable. The problem is patient's are brain washed from disinformation regarding carbs. Most doctors do not know what causes insulin resistance so they manage with a low carb diet instead of cure with a low fat starch diet.

Pretty certain they're all vegan AF. Give me one reason why they aren't and I'm pretty sure there's just as many ways you aren't if not more. It's people like Ornish & Campbell that make vegans like Greger which pretty much makes them all more vegan than us combined

If you vegans weren't so completely economically, historically, and legally naive you could get your agenda through to tens if not hundreds of times more people than now. I'm not even vegan and I'm sad for the lost opportunities and embarrassed when the brilliant medical analysis is disturbed by ignorant comments about climate change (none of you vegans realize that cold kills more people than heat still, and climate related deaths are on the decline), the American legal ruling on Citizens United (it actually allowed criticism of politicians without government approval), American insurance companies are currently socialized and can only increase fees if health care costs go up (only the most far-left fails to understand why that increases medical costs), and I could go on. Thank you for helping open minded people learn to eat healthier, I hope one day the people you helped can return the favor.

It's not that we're naïve, we're just still too small in numbers to get through to the masses, politics, system, etc. We're very well organized, the most organized of all lifestyles, we have a college, we have PCRM working the government, we have DxE, we have NF, we have a lot. But, what we're up against is the most enormous thing ever really. Billions of people culturally conditioned to perpetuate business as usual because they're afraid of change, even if it's killing them not to. There is tremendous collective resistance to the truth. This is why it took 6 thousands studies showing the same thing before even getting a surgeons warning for cigs. Food tho, man, that's digging deep into culture, as deep as it gets really.

@@VeganLinked there are currently well-known ways to overcome these issues and the least effective is criticism. Second only to criticism in effectiveness is dispassionate factual analysis. If poor health didn't focus my attention and overcome my ego, my family wouldn't be eating mostly plants let alone care. One way to overcome normal objections from normal people is to create a health share/insurance group that conditions cheap rates and good service with a vegan diet. It's illegal and always will be, but there are other ideas. You don't need a big group or even highly motivated vegan activists. Just think slightly strategically and listen to other experts like the right wing economists that gave me the ideas to manage private health care for pro-social outcomes.

Plant based eating requires planning and meal prep. If there is healthy food available, we will eat it.

Being healthy requires a little planning... Go buy some beans greens grains fruits veggies mushrooms nuts seeds herbs and spices, look up some recipes, keep it simple, and you're good to go.

So… Is everyone just going to disregard the fact that all these guys look generally unhealthy?
@VeganLinked3 жыл бұрын
How should doctors and scientists look when they're 87 years old, 68 years old, etc... ? This isn't a modeling competition there's plenty of "pretty" vegans that look half their age. These guys look to be in excellent health if you look at what matters, like their energy, mental disposition, and activity levels. These guys are running circles around meat advocates, esp. Atkins who died overweight with heart disease at 72.

@@VeganLinked oh, no, I was thinking more like Gregor. 48 years old, gray, totally bald, half blind, built like a bag of milk (bloated stomach and seemingly no upper body strength) talks with an odd sense of someone trying to force himself into an energetic state. And the other gentleman look every year their age, if not slightly older.

@@logoutandrew4569 I've met Greger in person multiple times. He looks perfect; his complexion, energy, absolutely perfect. Most of the people I know that are not vegan and 10 years younger are in tragic shape and mentally a mess, not Dr. Greger at all. Being bald is irrelevant. They are doctors, not models, there's plenty of vegan athletes, body builders, models, etc... Doctors only need to be doctors. If you met him you would see that he is in perfect shape. It's so annoying to even have to say all this, it's beyond childish. Like Einstein said, it's a sorry situation when the package is prettier than the meat packed inside. These men are as vivacious as teenagers and sharp, quick, and thorough. And full of integrity. If you're looking for love go somewhere else. If you're looking for science, inspiration, and intelligent food for though, and to develop a sophisticated and compassionate palate then forget about what they look like. There's a lot of dead people that were beautiful, it's not so pretty when they're dead. These guys are studious and don't have time to waste trying to do something just to appeal to some insignificant, trivial desire only the shallow crave. This is about something real, meaningful, and I'm sure I have plenty of attractive doctors on here and other vegans that probably look way better than you. But, that doesn't even matter. Go look at Dr. Garth Davis if you're wanting to play with yourself to videos of vegan doctors, maybe he's more your speed? I have plenty of videos of him, he's over 50 and the ladies seem to love him.
