"Athena needs to be a defense attorney" Funny story, that.. the Greek story of the creation of Athens legal system actually involves Athena and Apollo going to court over a mortal committing matricide.

@@WolfReactsTV also as a bit of a teaser we didn't know was a teaser, a few days before the saga came out Jorge posted a video of his dad building the sound booth this saga was all recorded in. So his dad not only played Hephaestus in the musical, but kinda in real life building the booth for him to forge this musical (and his own future!)

Haphaestus quickly agreeing when Athena talks about reforging relationships when Ody comes home is such a good call since Haphaestus is treated like an outcast even by his wife a *certain* goddess so he understands what that felt like; forging relationship.

For seven years, Odysseus was on that shore, crying in the direction of Ithica.
@aadityayanamandra88464 ай бұрын
That bit in "Love in Paradise" where "Open Arms" is playing goes CRAZY bc they also got "Luck Runs Out" and "The Underworld" playing. Calypso says "Ody," reminding Odysseus of Eurylochus, refers to open arms to remind him of Polites, and says that he'll stay in her heart, reminding him of his mother. However, the three songs' meanings are flipped. Odysseus no longer believes in open arms; therefore, his life is no longer "amazing." His luck has finally run out, and so he intends to die. It's not his mother waiting for him, but him waiting to leave the island to see his family.

Can we talk about how Athena said "his light went dark", and its such a meaningful lyrics because: 1. It basically says Ody lost his spark because of everything that has happened- And 2. His light, Polites, died just before Athena and him split apart. Anyone remembers the scrapped song _'Your Light'_ that Ody and Polites sang? The one that was replaced by Open Arms? Yeah... *He lost His Light.*

One of my favorite parts of this saga is at the very end. When there’s the instrumental part after Zeus sings Thunder Bringer, it has the melody of Warrior of the Mind, but when the lyrics would go “We are the warriors of the mind”, the melody there is replaced with “I want to be legendary”, including Telemachus as a Warrior of the Mind. It makes me tear up.

The funny thing is that in the actual Odyssey, when Athena goes to zeus and says "Dad, can i free odysseus pleeeeeaseeee" He just says "poseidons in ethiopia, so go for it!"
@NamMisa4 ай бұрын
You pointed out the difference of mindset between what Odysseus is feeling and the "open arms" part but it's even worse than that actually as this particular line starts playing after Calypso tells him to get back in her open arms, she literally trigerred him by accident.

20:05 So, Calypso saying "open arms" triggered Ody's trauma and he fould hear Polites's verse from "Open Arms" , Eurylocus's verse from "Luck Runs Out" and his own mother's verse from "The Underworld". Grade A trauma right there I tell ya...

"yeah he didn't fight scylla" Because while monstrous, she is equal in power to many other lesser divines like Circe and Calypso, and fighting her would have ensured that far more than 6 people died. Odysseus made the hard choice between a small number of deaths and a far larger one. Of course, Ares quite famously holds everyone who doesn't approach all conflict through extreme, immediate and direct violence in contempt. Also those who fulfil his other requirements, but end up not winning, so maybe his stance also isn't the most nuanced one 😂
