Thank you Tatyana! This cake was amazing. I made it for my daughter’s birthday yesterday and everybody loved it. Thank you very much and keep up the good work ❤️❤️ For those who wants to try it, you really need to wait before icing the cake. Despite baking it the day before icing, the cutting part was still a challenge. And finally I used a Swiss meringue buttercream for the icing (not as sweet as classic buttercream)

Hi tatyana, ive been using this recipe for all almost all of my cakes and i absolutely love it! Just one tiny doubt, when i keep it refrigerator, the cake becomes a bit hard, then if its left out for half an hours, it becomes soft. So maybe its because of the butter, so can we substitute butter with oil? If yes, please let me know the measure. Also if you've any other tip, please do share! Thankyou 😘

Hi! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoy my recipe! Are you wrapping the cake when you refrigerate it? Most cakes will become more stiff in the fridge, then soften when at room temp. And yes, you can use oil instead of butter, the same amount :)

Hi! :) I used 8-inch pans for this recipe but the brand also sells 6-inch rounds. Here's the brand I have: fatdaddios.com/ I always use concentrated gel color in my recipes. I buy mine a local bakery supply store but you can also purchase them online, the brand is called 'Americolor' :)

The cookie cutters are about a 1 inch tall. I think I picked those up at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I've had them forever so I don't remember for sure! Any cooking store should have them :)

This cake was fun to make. I did have to make the cake twice though because I didn't chill the cake before cutting out the circles and they broke. Other than that it was fine. I asked my children how they thought I got the cake that way, they said I cut out squares and glued it with the frosting. I had to laugh because I would not go to that much trouble for a cake. We enjoyed eating it. One of my sons snuck a couple of the truffles off the cake.

i tried it with another way . by baking 3 or more cakes in cake pans with the same size while making the alternative circles chocolate &vanilla before i baked it by a bag & piping tip so afterbaking i dont have glue them by ganash or wipping cream .

I had one question though; could this pattern be made with a taller cake? I am looking for at least 6 8" layers so that I can add a ganache drip on the outside. Can that be done?

Yes, that would work, too. The white chocolate doesn't really add flavor but it does add moisture to the cake. You can do the recipe the same way, just without the chocolate - no need to adjust anything
