Got mine a week ago, my 7, 9 and 11yr olds love it, they all learned on 14D. I can ride it ok too, for me the trolley handle was the let down as it doesn't lock in up position like a patton so slides down when walking it then the wheel becomes hard to balance. It's a fun wheel that can roll at reasonable speeds without being too heavy. The 84v isn't a problem for me at 200lb as long as i don't expect it to be really zippy on a climb for instance but the smaller diameter wheel gives it an effective lower gearing which helps it deliver more torque than you'd expect from 84v. The battery percentage seems to fall away pretty quickly compared to a patton, but my feet get sore way before i get down below 50% (not the wheels fault, i just haven't got used to long rides yet)

Great video. I bought one a few weeks ago as my first EUC and love it. Interestingly, the tire on yours is not the same tire that came standard on mine from ewheels. The standard tire on my unit does seem better. Having ridden Onewheels for the past few years, this wheel gives me a nice bump up in speed, range, and torque compared to what I’m used to. I mostly ride bike trails and light offroad, so I find it plenty powerful for now. *Edit for more description* The stock tire on my unit has different tread, and is more round and less boxy than the one on yours for anyone interested.
@WheelGoodTime9 ай бұрын
Interesting! Yes it looks like on eWheels' site you have the option of two different tires, both of which look much better than the one I used. Seems Jason @ ewheels had foresight on that and ensured the S16 pro didn't ship with the tire I used. This one seems to be the kind the rest of the world will be using as shipped from the factory, but eWheels gets to do special orders like that because they have such high order volume 🙂

Have to say, I personally like the tire and have ascended some very steep off road like 35° hills or more without traction issues. Also tire is easier on street than a full knobbie. It's def in between, works for me tho. I don't lean really hard in corners, mostly decelerate a bit first. If you live in an area with goatheads...get the mr tuffy lime tire liners. Just need 1 of course but they work for all but nails and mesquite thorns

I am missing a segment about the App/Settings. The V12 has a lot of stuff in there, like change balance tilt angle, change hardness of pedals both accelerating and braking. If S16 Pro cant match that, the V12 may be the superior beginner wheel, outweighing the lack of suspension.

the rgb lights and speakers do serve somewhat of a purpose for city commuters that want to be seen and heard by traffic around them, and to alert pedestrians that like to randomly wonder on to the bike lane of their presence. but I get that a lot of people just turn these off and use other methods to make themselfs heard or seen. still, it´s nice to have those options come with the wheel itself. About the tire, it really is flatter than avarage kendas, but if you pump it to the psi recomended by the manufacturer (35-40 psi) it becomes rounder and easier to turn with

5'11. 100kgs. beginner rider here. Torn between this and the Inmotion v12ht as my first beginner EUC. If you are to recommend an EUC to a beginner rider that prefers range over speed, all under $2k USD budget (or roughly 3k CAD with shipping and taxes)..which one would you recommend? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Really nice video by the way
@WheelGoodTime8 ай бұрын
Personally, I would stay away from the V12 because it has a cutout issue that has never been officially addressed. For that budget, I would go with a T4 Pro myself, and my second choice after that would be an S16 pro. Both have suspensions, and are good and powerful enough for beginners but they can also be fun little trail wheels even after you get something more powerful later on. 🫡

@WheelGoodTime7 ай бұрын
S16 100%. The V12 goes faster, but since it doesn't have a suspension, it's a hard no from me. Have you also considered the T4 Pro?

@WheelGoodTime7 ай бұрын
@@geladolaberidze the V11 was my first EUC 🙂 I liked it a lot at the time and the V11Y is an incremental upgrade. I think it's nice, but pad mounting will definitely be a frustration because of the two vertical stanchions in place on both sides. Personally, if given the choice between the three, I'd choose the T4 Pro first, then S16, then V11Y. Not that the V11Y is bad, it's just that the T4 Pro has better specs so your skills won't outgrow it quite so quickly.

@WheelGoodTime9 ай бұрын
EUC manufacturers tend to exaggerate their range claims - KS says the S16 Pro can go far more than that, but 30 miles is a more realistic range with an adult rider going fast. If you aren't riding crazy with it, I think you could get about 50-60 miles without too much trouble, especially for a lighter rider.

I did not - I should have though! The only pads I currently have are "big wheel" ones, so I don't think it would have fit very well. Either way I think a set of regular Grizzla flow pads (or similar) would fit decently on it.

I mean they could just use a bone conducting speaker to make the entire top panel of the device a speaker. They're basically just speakers you place on objects and it vibrates them as the speaker. Then it can easily be water proofed. I've even seen a few TVs and monitors use these just because you can't see them.

Used S22pro is approaching ~$1500 price range. Better value for used wheels will be the industry’s toughest competition… and rightfully so. The planned-obsolescence of the Kingsong suspension wheel lineup will eventually kill this company, or get them bought out at a severely devalued cost. Ugh!

The warning beeps sound just like a bird we've got here, which can be confusing. And there is no better music than silence. It could do with a few auxiliary outlets. Personally, I don’t like it… and I would not call it as a beginner wheel. It’s too heavy (get a S22 instead), apparently not easy to work on, not cheap… and a big batch had battery issues (dead on arrival) which is a pain for EUC sellers (warranty with KS). I think the V11Y is a better wheel for this segment (want to go really fast? Go get a Lynx/Patton/Extreme/Etc…).
@WheelGoodTime9 ай бұрын
That's a good point about the huge bad batch that was DOA. I totally forgot about that!, I haven't tried the v11y, but after owning the v11 for a few years as my first wheel, I would definitely take the s16 pro over the V11Y. The V11/Y is also notoriously hard to work on as well. I would choose the S16 Pro primarily on the basis of having better pad mounting options, which is a huge deal to me. The V11Y does have better waterproofing though...
@ianl17419 ай бұрын
How is V11Y better lol aside from waterproofing? Suspension and probably reliability is decidedly worse. KS 22 is a pretty good option though, not much heavier, more expensive, and maybe able to get that magical 40 mph, larger tho

@WheelGoodTime9 ай бұрын
@@sazzowl_gaming8203 I think I would have to agree with you there. The price tag is fairly similar for both, and as for me, I'm a performance hound. The T4 Pro has higher voltage and is capable of a little bit more, especially with the knobby tire that it comes with. Out of the box, I think the T4 Pro is a better trail wheel and more "serious", while the s16 pro is more for leisurely commutes and keeping the party going with lights and speakers. 🙂

You are absolutely, 1000% WRONG on your assessment of that tire. I've tried a lot of tires, and this CST C131 is a true dual-sport moped tire, with 4 plys (meaning hard to get pinch flats). You said it has a square profile?? Do you have eyes? The profile is perfectly round, which means it is perfectly predictable. The tread has fantastic grip on hardpack, with no annoying buzz or wear on tarmac, and the knobs are offset so it doesn't lock into a groove. Sure you can find a better dedicated street tire; you can't find a better 16" dirt tire that still has nice manners on the street.
