Hey! Jeff the bartender here. FYI, Dutch Kills has opened a cocktails-to-go window in NYC during the shutdown. If you’re in the area, swing by for a drink! Your support means the world. Hope everyone’s staying safe. ❤️ All your comments are hilarious btw. As for how many drinks were consumed and by whom - I’m taking the Fifth.

did it get cut off in editing or are you *Just* using the pressed ginger juice? it's not like a ginger syrup or cordial thing made with the fresh pressed juice + sugar?

Hamed Karama hey Hamed! Yes it’s a combination of fresh pressed ginger juice and sugar. (We briskly stir the sugar into the juice to dissolve it without ever heating the liquid to keep the ginger spicy and fresh)

As a bartender, I really hate it when my clients know nothing about cocktails and spirits, and always complain about the amount of ice that I put in them. "If I want a drink that's completely diluted with ice, I'll just go to McDonald's, and it won't be as pricey as your bar!". Psh.

Unfortunately that isn't how a Bramble is actually made. The creater in London has taught the drink to people who want to know the real recipe. First you don't muddle the berries they are a decoration. It is built in the glass not shaken at all. And it is lemon juice and simple syrup it was a cube of sugar to muddle with lemon in the glass but you can use sugar syrup. Then gin is poured in stirred with crushed ice then the ice is topped off like a fix then it has creme de mure' poured on top to drip down to form the look of Bramble stems that hold the blackberries bench the name and garnish is lemon wedge down the side and blackberries on top. It's a English Cocktail and please make correctly. People who know will send that thing back. Because it doesn't taste as good. And it's a experience and subtle changes as you drink it.

Hey, for the caipirinha, the traditional way is to use white sugar. It gives a crunchy and sweet addition to just syrup! It's true that we don't shake it much, or sometimes not at all, but the sugar is important. For one whole persian lime, you use 2 tablespoons of sugar, one for shaking and one for mixing in the glass after you pour it all. Of course, cachaça is added (I use two ounces and a splash).the sugar doesn't dissolve completely, that's why some people even use a coarser type of sugar to bring the crunch to the next level!

Great video!!! For Pisco Sour the best recipe (for me) is this: - 3 oz. pisco - 1 oz. syrup (which for the Peruvian version is 2 parts of sugar and 1 part of water) - 1 oz. limón juice (the mix between a lime and a lemon) - 1 oz. egg white (1 egg white)

@discogoth
@discogoth 4 жыл бұрын
MrHoliday yes, this is why it’s 100% worth it to save your “getting totally blasted” nights for drinking at home, and keep your “casually drinking a couple craft cocktails” nights at the bar. If you’re going for a great tasting cocktail it’s worth your money to head to an upscale bar or lounge, but if you just want to get very drunk you’ll save money by doing it at home :)
@joshr8573

The measurements are all there, its not measured to the glass its measured to the recipe. The ice is to dilute the drink the desired amount to created a more palatable flavor. If you want a cocktail without ice or not diluted with ice at all, just let the bartender know. But don't expect extra alcohol. It will taste stronger if thats what you want.

Hey there! Even though “nowadays” people are using shakers for the Caipirinha, it is traditionally mixed with a bar spoon (after muddling and adding the fermented and distilled alcohol). Great work! Everything looked amazing good :)

JPDjoppe cocktails are made with a specific volume in mind, and the glass they go into are also that volume. Drinks with ice obviously allow for more room.

Recipes and sizes of glasses are mostly standardized. Being able to eyeball the amount of ice just comes naturally with practice. I'll admit, it is a satisfying small victory every time you make a cocktail. Been making them for 10 years and it still feels satisfying.

@@adrianfletcher8963 Depends on the kind of place the bartender works at. Every bartender is taught how to time their pours (with the correct pour spout on the bottles). But high end places with a cocktail program will use jiggers to ensure consistency. Then again, so do places with untrained people manning the bar.

Now what? I'm underage as well, but my parents bought me a shaker and everything else you need and they also buy the alcohol. I just tell them what I need, sometimes go with them to choose which one I want and then I mix cocktails for my whole family. I only started recently, but I think this will work out the next two years until I can buy the spirits myself.
