You can point that to the New CEO's leadership. Gibson (for the most part) cant and won't be able to create value-priced instruments like fender that live up to the whole "luxury" brand segment that Gibson exists in. By creating these middle-ground epiphone guitars, they get people in the ecosystem of gibson brands and give them something to aspire to one day. I do think that is a distinction between a Mexican and American fender. After having bought a well-specc'd MIM fender strat this past year, I couldn't imagine buying an American one for more that would likely give me less. I've had an epiphone LP as my first guitar, and it's shortcomings made my first Gibson all the more sweet.

Epiphone vs Sigma vs Gibson J200 Please :D This would be really interesting. Maybe Blindfolded?
@shakespeariancopy30534 жыл бұрын
Sigma all the way.... although these epis are full solid body, sigma’s build quality is just amazing, I have tried them against several solid body guitars, way better sound than all of them... now will you get the Gibson sound for a sigma’s price? Nope, but quite close and Gibson will unlikely deliver a sound worth 6k of price on their guitars. IMO Sigma beats them both in Price-Quality relationship, you get them for close to epis price but they over deliver on quality and looks. But you are the judge, go to a Store and try them so you see what I’m talking you about, anyways you can’t go wrong with any. None the less these epis sound and look great!

@@shakespeariancopy3053 I don’t trust Sigma at all, I tried out a Hummingbird copy and it felt and sounded like cheap shit.. It was around the same price as the J200 copy they do if I remember correctly.
@shakespeariancopy30534 жыл бұрын
@@EJ2K2K maybe you’ve got to try one with a poor set up, most guitars shipped overseas must be re set up due to climate and atmospheric pressure changes but more than usual guitar stores don’t care about that. I tried one in the UK vs other Gibson’s and epis, and while sound wise they were not as good as Gibson they were way better to my ears than any epi master built I tried that day, but this store have each guitar set up done as soon as they arrive, huge difference. While of course a 400$ guitar won’t feel or sound like a 4K guitar, these do great price quality for most players. I advice you to check a blindfold video done by Anderton’s featuring Ariel posen and trying sigmas and Gibson’s and Others, Ariel was surprised by the quality of Sigma.

On central heating and humidity. #1 Open your windows - yes you lose heat, but hey fresh air comes in. #2 Place a bowl of water next to the radiators. I have the ej200 from 20odd years ago and it's fabulous(it wasn't anything near £700 even with inflation)

Those are some great guitars! If only there was an LG-2 in the Inspired By Gibson series, I would order it immediately.

OR, go to Elderly Instruments (elderly.com) and look up the Farida Old Town series.

@@ShaneOpeno I've never heard of those guitars before. I've checked them out and they are exactly what I was looking for. Thank you and have a great day!

I have an epiphone ej 200ce And I'm curious whether I should upgrade to this new version... any chance you guys could do a comparison video???
@freddysnip62574 жыл бұрын
I have the same guitar as you. And I seriously want to trade it in for the Epiphone j200 aged natural, since it is all solid, sans cutaway, and it resembles a 50's Gibson J-200.

I'm looking at the same thing? Did you go for it?

Epiphone seem intent on exceeding their 90’s peak. These look and sound fantastic. I love the new Casino in olive and the Reissue of the Riviera.

all korean epiphone´s from the 90´s are way better than these chinese and indonesia models. i could compare them. there´s a quality difference.
@caster32834 жыл бұрын
@@poploadermusic6210 thanks but how do you know? You might be right but unless you had played these newer models you’re just assuming all Korean made guitars are better than Guitars made in China. I’ve had plenty of 90’s Epi’s in the past but I haven’t played any of the new stuff. They look and sound great to me from what I’ve heard on line.
@poploadermusic62104 жыл бұрын
@@caster3283 i have compared them and the difference is huge. dont forget many demo videos on yt are perfect mixed and add. worked on to make them sound very good. the reality is different. epiphone china are plastic guitars. i would never ever use them on stage and in the studio. i regret that i sold some of my korean made epis from the 90s. they were great guitars.
@caster32834 жыл бұрын
@@poploadermusic6210 they sure were. Ive had a Korean Sheraton, 2 x Casinos and a few LP’s and I sold them all as I “upgraded”. Looking back I wish I still had them all! Well hopefully these new models are a positive move in the right direction but until I have played one personally I’ll reserve judgment. They certainly look cool. Nice one mate, cheers.

Epiphone can't lose since they switched that headstock design. Someone at the company said "Why don't we compete in the market by making playable instruments that look nice?" and it's working.
